Which companies sponsor visas for product engineering managers in California?
Large technology employers in California with consistent sponsorship records for product engineering manager roles include Google, Apple, Meta, Amazon, Salesforce, Adobe, Intuit, and Qualcomm. Mid-size and growth-stage companies in the Bay Area and Los Angeles also sponsor regularly. Sponsorship patterns are most reliable at companies with established immigration programs and dedicated HR teams handling international hires.
Which visa types are most common for product engineering manager roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product engineering managers in California, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. The L-1A is common for internal transfers into managerial positions. Candidates with extraordinary achievements may qualify for the O-1A. Each pathway has distinct employer obligations and timelines.
Which cities in California have the most product engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
The San Francisco Bay Area, including San Jose, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, and San Francisco itself, accounts for the majority of product engineering manager sponsorship opportunities in California. Los Angeles has a growing technology sector, particularly in fintech, media technology, and e-commerce. San Diego is a secondary hub, driven by semiconductor companies like Qualcomm and a cluster of biotech firms with software engineering needs.
How to find product engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify product engineering manager roles in California where employers are open to sponsoring international candidates. Rather than sorting through generic job boards, Migrate Mate surfaces positions relevant to your visa situation. Filtering by California and the product engineering manager role type narrows results to the most relevant opportunities in the state's technology hubs.
Are there any California-specific considerations for product engineering managers seeking visa sponsorship?
California's prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules reflect the state's high compensation norms, particularly in the Bay Area, which sits in the highest wage tier for engineering management roles. The state's university pipeline from UC Berkeley, Stanford, and UCLA feeds into a competitive hiring market. California employers are generally experienced with sponsorship processes given the volume of international talent in the technology sector.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product engineering manager jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
