Which companies in Tennessee sponsor visas for product engineering managers?
HCA Healthcare in Nashville, FedEx in Memphis, and Nissan North America in Smyrna have all filed H-1B petitions for engineering management roles. Tennessee's healthcare technology sector adds employers like Change Healthcare and Optum, while automotive and logistics companies in the greater Nashville and Memphis areas also appear in DOL disclosure data for sponsored engineering positions.
Which visa types are most common for product engineering manager roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for product engineering managers in Tennessee, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already holding L-1A status through multinational transfers are another pathway, particularly at companies like Nissan that have significant global operations.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most product engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Nashville leads the state for product engineering manager sponsorship activity, driven by its healthcare IT and fintech sectors. Memphis follows, anchored by FedEx's large technology division and a growing logistics-tech ecosystem. Knoxville sees activity tied to manufacturing and Oak Ridge National Laboratory's technology programs, while Chattanooga has attracted automotive and advanced manufacturing employers that occasionally sponsor engineering leadership roles.
How to find product engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for product engineering manager roles in Tennessee without sorting through positions that don't sponsor. Because sponsorship willingness varies significantly by employer size and sector, using Migrate Mate to focus on Tennessee employers with active sponsorship histories saves considerable time compared to broad searches.
Are there any Tennessee-specific considerations for product engineering managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects the prevailing wage calculations employers submit on Labor Condition Applications, since DOL uses Bureau of Labor Statistics metropolitan area data rather than state tax policy. The Nashville and Memphis metropolitan areas are classified as separate prevailing wage regions, so an offer in Nashville will reflect different wage benchmarks than one in Memphis or Knoxville. University of Tennessee and Vanderbilt graduate pipelines supply engineering talent that some employers leverage when building the case for sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product engineering manager jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
