Which companies sponsor visas for product engineering managers in Oregon?
Intel is Oregon's largest sponsor of engineering management roles, with major operations in Hillsboro. Nike and Adidas sponsor product and engineering talent in Beaverton. Portland-based software companies, including Puppet, Vacasa, and Cambia Health Solutions, have also filed H-1B petitions for product engineering manager positions. Sponsorship activity is concentrated in the Portland metro, though availability varies by hiring cycle and business need.
Which visa types are most common for product engineering manager roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product engineering managers in Oregon, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related field. L-1A visas are an option for managers transferring from a foreign affiliate. O-1 visas apply for candidates with demonstrated extraordinary achievement, though that standard is high for management roles.
Which cities in Oregon have the most product engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Portland and its adjacent suburbs, Beaverton and Hillsboro, account for the large majority of product engineering manager sponsorship activity in Oregon. Hillsboro is home to Intel's largest U.S. campus. Beaverton hosts Nike's global headquarters. Outside the metro area, sponsorship opportunities for this specific role are limited, as Oregon's tech employment is heavily concentrated in the greater Portland region.
How to find product engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search product engineering manager roles in Oregon without sorting through employers who won't sponsor. The platform surfaces positions from companies with documented H-1B sponsorship histories in Oregon, which is particularly useful given how concentrated the market is around Portland, Beaverton, and Hillsboro.
Are there state-specific considerations for product engineering manager roles in Oregon?
Oregon does not have a state income tax on wages for nonresidents working entirely outside Oregon, but Portland imposes a Metro Supportive Housing Services tax and a Multnomah County income tax, which affect take-home pay for workers in those jurisdictions. For H-1B sponsorship, employers must meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for product engineering managers in the specific Oregon metropolitan statistical area listed on the Labor Condition Application.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product engineering manager jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
