Which companies sponsor visas for product engineering managers in South Carolina?
Bosch, Michelin, and BMW Manufacturing in the Upstate region have established H-1B visa sponsorship histories for engineering management roles. Technology-oriented firms in the Columbia and Charleston corridors, including defense contractors and enterprise software companies, also file sponsorships for product engineering managers. Checking Department of Labor LCA disclosure data lets you verify which specific employers have sponsored this role category recently.
Which visa types are most common for product engineering manager roles in South Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for product engineering managers in South Carolina, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already holding L-1A status with a multinational employer may also transfer into management roles at South Carolina facilities. Some senior-level candidates pursue EB-1C or EB-2 immigrant pathways after establishing tenure.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most product engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Greenville and Spartanburg in the Upstate region concentrate the highest density of product engineering manager opportunities, driven by the automotive and advanced manufacturing clusters anchored by BMW, Michelin, and Bosch. Columbia, as the state capital and home to a growing tech sector, offers opportunities with government contractors and enterprise software firms. Charleston is an emerging market with aerospace, logistics technology, and defense companies increasingly active in sponsorship hiring.
How to find product engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse product engineering manager roles in South Carolina without manually screening hundreds of postings. The platform aggregates positions from employers with documented sponsorship histories, which is particularly useful in a state where manufacturing, automotive, and tech roles are spread across Greenville, Columbia, and Charleston rather than concentrated in one metro.
Are there state-specific considerations for product engineering managers pursuing visa sponsorship in South Carolina?
South Carolina's manufacturing-heavy economy means many product engineering manager roles sit within large multinational corporations that already have established immigration programs, which can simplify the sponsorship process compared to smaller or startup employers. The state's technical university pipeline, including Clemson University's engineering programs, creates local competition for these roles. Employers sponsoring H-1B workers must pay the prevailing wage as determined by Department of Labor data for the Greenville, Columbia, or Charleston metro areas depending on work location.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product engineering manager jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
