Which companies in Texas sponsor visas for product engineering managers?
Several large Texas-based employers have established H-1B sponsorship track records for product engineering manager roles. Dell Technologies and Texas Instruments in Austin and Dallas, NRG Energy and Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Houston, and AT&T in Dallas have all filed LCAs for engineering management positions. Large enterprise tech and semiconductor firms in Texas tend to have the internal legal infrastructure to support sponsorship more consistently than smaller companies.
Which visa types are most common for product engineering manager roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product engineering managers in Texas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Candidates with prior U.S. experience and an approved I-140 may also work under H-1B extensions beyond the six-year cap. L-1A is another pathway for managers transferring from a foreign affiliated office of a Texas employer.
Which cities in Texas have the most product engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads Texas for product engineering manager sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of tech companies and semiconductor firms. Dallas-Fort Worth is a close second, with strong demand across enterprise software, telecommunications, and financial technology companies. Houston adds meaningful volume through energy-tech and engineering services firms. San Antonio has a smaller but growing tech sector with some sponsoring employers, particularly in cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure.
How to find product engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers are actively open to visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to browse product engineering manager positions across Texas without sorting through roles that won't consider international candidates. You can narrow results to specific Texas cities and review employer sponsorship history. For a management-level role like this, focusing on larger employers in Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth will surface the most relevant opportunities.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for product engineering manager sponsorship candidates?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since total compensation is structured differently than in states like California or New York. For H-1B purposes, the employer must pay the prevailing wage set by the Department of Labor for the specific metropolitan statistical area, whether that is Austin, Dallas, or Houston. Texas also has several strong engineering university pipelines, including UT Austin and Texas A&M, which means employers here are accustomed to international candidates coming through OPT before pursuing H-1B sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product engineering manager jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
