Which companies sponsor visas for product engineering managers in North Carolina?
Several established employers in North Carolina have a track record of sponsoring work visas for product engineering managers. In the Research Triangle, companies like Lenovo, Cisco, Red Hat, and SAS Institute regularly file H-1B visa petitions for senior engineering leadership roles. Charlotte-based firms in fintech and enterprise software, including LendingTree and Honeywell, also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data as active sponsors for this role type.
Which visa types are most common for product engineering manager roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product engineering managers in North Carolina, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already holding L-1A status through a multinational employer may also transfer to a North Carolina office. Australians may qualify for the E-3 visa, which follows a similar process without the lottery.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most product engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
The Research Triangle, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, accounts for the largest share of product engineering manager sponsorship activity in North Carolina. The concentration of tech employers, proximity to NC State, Duke, and UNC, and an established startup ecosystem drive consistent hiring. Charlotte is a secondary hub, particularly for roles at enterprise software and financial technology companies with international engineering teams.
How to find product engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it practical to search for product engineering manager roles in North Carolina without manually screening hundreds of postings. The platform surfaces employers who have indicated sponsorship willingness, so you can focus on companies already set up to support H-1B or other work visa petitions for this level of engineering leadership.
Are there state-specific considerations for product engineering managers pursuing sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina's Research Triangle concentrations create a competitive but well-established sponsorship environment. Employers here are generally familiar with H-1B processes due to the region's deep ties to NC State, Duke, and UNC engineering programs, which generate consistent international talent pipelines. Prevailing wage requirements for product engineering manager roles are determined by the Department of Labor based on the specific county and scope of the position, so location within the state can affect the certified wage on a Labor Condition Application.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product engineering manager jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
