DESCRIPTION
AWS Infrastructure Services is the backbone of Amazon's cloud computing operations, responsible for every aspect of AWS's global infrastructure — from design and planning to delivery and operations. Our team ensures millions of customers have uninterrupted access to AWS services by managing data centers worldwide, including all servers, storage systems, networks, and critical facility infrastructure. We tackle complex supply chain challenges at an unprecedented scale, optimizing thousands of variables to keep the cloud running smoothly. We're seeking innovative problem-solvers ready to help shape the future of global cloud infrastructure.
You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers — all within an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
The AWS Cloud Logistics team is seeking an experienced Supply Chain professional to join our Florence, KY location. In this role, you'll take ownership of transportation operations for one of the world's fastest-growing industries, driving continuous improvement and leading day-to-day operational execution with limited oversight. This is a hands-on operations role where no two days look the same — you'll regularly navigate ambiguous situations, make sound judgment calls, and find practical solutions without always having a defined playbook to follow.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. You operate with autonomy, own your segment of the business end-to-end, and know when to escalate versus when to act. You're comfortable working through uncertainty, building structure where it doesn't exist, and keeping operations running smoothly even when the path forward isn't always clear.
This role is a great fit if you:
- Take full ownership of a transportation mode or customer-focused subset within the region, including SOP creation and process documentation
- Thrive on leading and participating in cross-functional improvement projects
- Drive automation and process simplification initiatives independently
- Mentor peers and serve as a point of escalation and support for team members
- Communicate performance insights clearly through regular business reviews with Logistics Service Providers and senior leadership
- Are energized by ambiguity and can prioritize effectively when problems and solutions aren't yet well-defined
Key job responsibilities
- Own and manage day-to-day transportation operations for an assigned segment, including SOP development and ongoing process improvement
- Navigate ambiguous operational situations with sound judgment, escalating risks and roadblocks proactively while providing recommended solutions
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring transportation defects and inefficiencies
- Own performance metrics and dashboards; present findings in regular business reviews with Logistics Service Providers and senior leadership
- Program manage standard customer requirements and operational initiatives, maintaining a consistent focus on best-in-class service
- Identify and act on process improvement opportunities to optimize overall operational effectiveness and achieve performance targets
- Collaborate across Supply Chain teams to develop and implement standardized solutions with limited oversight
- Mentor and peer coach team members; serve as a point of escalation and support for newly hired employees
- Actively engage in hiring activities and contribute to document reviews with senior leadership audiences
- Develop and maintain effective communication with Business Partners and external stakeholders

Which companies sponsor visas for product engineering managers in Kentucky?
Toyota's Georgetown manufacturing complex, GE Appliances in Louisville, Humana's technology division, and Lexmark International are among Kentucky employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories for engineering management roles. Logistics-focused firms tied to UPS's Louisville hub also hire product engineering managers. Sponsorship activity is highest among large enterprises with established immigration programs rather than smaller regional employers.
Which visa types are most common for product engineering manager roles in Kentucky?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for product engineering managers in Kentucky, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related field, meeting specialty occupation criteria. L-1A visas are relevant for managers transferring within multinational companies, particularly in manufacturing. O-1 visas are less common but available for candidates with exceptional records of achievement.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most product engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Louisville accounts for the largest share of product engineering manager sponsorship activity in Kentucky, driven by its concentration of healthcare technology, advanced manufacturing, and logistics companies. Lexington is the secondary hub, with growing software and biotech employers. Georgetown, home to Toyota's North American manufacturing headquarters, also generates engineering management roles, particularly for candidates with automotive or operations backgrounds.
How to find product engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and lets you filter product engineering manager roles by state, including Kentucky. This is more efficient than broad job searches because listings are curated for sponsorship eligibility. Focus on Louisville and Lexington employers in manufacturing, health technology, and logistics, as these industries generate the most consistent sponsorship demand for engineering management candidates in Kentucky.
Are there state-specific factors that affect product engineering manager sponsorship hiring in Kentucky?
Kentucky's engineering management market is shaped by its manufacturing heritage, meaning employers often prioritize candidates who can manage both software product cycles and hardware or production integration. The University of Kentucky and University of Louisville supply regional engineering talent pipelines, which can affect how aggressively employers pursue international sponsorship. Prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules apply uniformly at the federal level and are determined by the Louisville or Lexington metro area classifications for Department of Labor purposes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product engineering manager jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
