Which companies sponsor visas for product engineering managers in New York?
Large tech employers with significant New York engineering footprints, including Google, Amazon, Meta, Spotify, and Bloomberg, regularly sponsor visas for product engineering managers. Major financial institutions such as JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Citigroup also maintain active engineering leadership hiring with sponsorship. Enterprise software and media companies like IBM and Verizon round out the sponsoring employer pool in the state.
Which visa types are most common for product engineering manager roles in New York?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for product engineering managers in New York, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field, satisfying specialty occupation requirements. The L-1A intracompany transferee visa is also relevant for managers transferring from a foreign affiliated office. Senior candidates with demonstrated industry recognition may explore the O-1A extraordinary ability category.
Which cities in New York have the most product engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the largest concentration of sponsored product engineering manager roles in New York, driven by the dense presence of tech, finance, and media companies. Brooklyn's tech corridor, particularly in DUMBO and Downtown Brooklyn, has grown substantially with engineering offices from companies like Apple and Amazon. Long Island City also hosts engineering teams from major employers, making the greater New York City metro the clear center of hiring activity.
How to find product engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters product engineering manager jobs in New York by visa sponsorship, so you're not sorting through listings that won't consider work authorization. The platform surfaces roles from employers with a documented history of sponsoring engineering leadership positions, which is particularly useful given how competitive the New York market is for sponsored management-level roles.
Are there state-specific considerations for product engineering managers seeking visa sponsorship in New York?
New York employers filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications must certify they will pay the prevailing wage for product engineering manager roles as determined by the Department of Labor for the New York metro area, which reflects one of the higher prevailing wage levels in the country. New York's dense concentration of cap-exempt nonprofit research institutions and universities also creates sponsorship pathways outside the annual H-1B lottery for candidates who qualify for those environments.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product engineering manager jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
