Which companies sponsor visas for product engineering managers in Kansas?
Garmin's Olathe headquarters, Cerner (now part of Oracle), and T-Mobile's Kansas City operations have sponsored engineering management roles. Wichita-based aerospace firms including Spirit AeroSystems and Textron Aviation also hire at this level. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and varies by business need, headcount, and the specific engineering specialization you bring to the role.
Which visa types are most common for product engineering manager roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for product engineering managers in Kansas, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related specialty field. The L-1A is relevant for intracompany transferees moving into a managerial capacity. Candidates from Australia may also consider the E-3, and those from Canada or Mexico may qualify under TN status.
Which cities in Kansas have the most product engineering manager sponsorship jobs?
The Kansas City metro area, particularly Olathe and Overland Park on the Kansas side, concentrates the most product engineering manager openings due to the presence of Garmin, Oracle Cerner, and technology service firms. Wichita is the secondary hub, driven by aerospace and advanced manufacturing employers who need engineering leadership. Lawrence and Manhattan have limited openings, mostly tied to university-adjacent technology ventures.
How to find product engineering manager visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, making it more efficient than broad searches that mix sponsored and non-sponsored postings. For product engineering manager roles in Kansas, you can filter by state and job category directly on Migrate Mate to surface relevant opportunities in the Olathe, Overland Park, and Wichita corridors without manually screening each listing.
Are there state-specific or role-specific considerations for product engineering managers seeking sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas does not have state-level visa programs, so sponsorship follows federal H-1B and PERM processes. For product engineering manager roles, employers must demonstrate the position qualifies as a specialty occupation, which is well-supported given the degree requirements standard in this field. Kansas's lower cost of living relative to coastal tech hubs means prevailing wage obligations are generally lower, which can make sponsorship more financially feasible for mid-sized employers like those in Wichita's aerospace sector.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product engineering manager jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
