-
Passion for Gaming: An expert understanding of the life simulation and cozy-game genre on social media and how social media fits into a community-minded marketing strategy. Knowledge of The Sims is a big plus.

Search Social Media Content Jobs in CaliforniaSocial Media Content Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for social media content roles in California?
Meta, Google, Snap, Netflix, Adobe, and Salesforce are among the California-based employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories for content and marketing roles. Larger tech companies typically have dedicated immigration support teams, making them more likely to sponsor. Smaller agencies and startups may sponsor but less consistently, and sponsorship decisions are made case by case.
Which visa types are most common for social media content roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa for social media content professionals in California, particularly for roles framed around digital marketing strategy, content analytics, or social media management requiring a relevant bachelor's degree. The O-1A is an option for individuals with demonstrated distinction in their field. TN visa status covers Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying marketing occupations under USMCA.
Which cities in California have the most social media content sponsorship jobs?
Los Angeles and San Francisco account for the largest share of social media content sponsorship jobs in California. Los Angeles draws from entertainment, media, and influencer-driven brands, while San Francisco and the broader Bay Area is concentrated around tech platforms. San Diego has a growing startup and e-commerce sector that also produces sponsorship opportunities for content roles.
How to find social media content visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for visa sponsorship roles, including social media content positions in California. You can filter directly by state and role type to surface employers with active sponsorship histories. This is more efficient than searching general job boards, where sponsorship status is rarely disclosed upfront.
Are there any California-specific considerations for social media content visa sponsorship?
California's strong labor protections and high prevailing wage requirements under Department of Labor guidelines mean employers must meet regionally adjusted wage thresholds for sponsored roles, which are generally higher than national averages. California's concentration of entertainment and tech industries also means social media content roles are more likely to require specialized skills, strengthening the case for H-1B specialty occupation classification.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored social media content jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
