Our global recruiting team operates at a scale and standard that reflects the company we support, and the strategies that guide our work must be equally exceptional. We are looking for a Recruiting Strategy Lead to help shape and drive the strategic direction of our global recruiting organization. This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of talent, finance, analytics, and business strategy - influencing how we build and support our workforce. This role demands both the strategic vision to shape how a global recruiting organization operates and the program management discipline to bring that vision to life at scale.
Description
As a Recruiting Strategy Lead, you'll serve as a critical thought partner to recruiting leadership, translating complex data and financial analysis into clear strategies and compelling narratives. You will help drive the analytical and strategic frameworks that guide how our global recruiting organization plans, operates, and measures success.
Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate global recruiting strategies that align talent acquisition with business priorities and product roadmaps
- Conduct talent market, financial, and headcount analyses - including scenario planning to inform resource planning and decision-making
- Help lead annual, mid-year, and quarterly strategic planning processes across global and regional recruiting teams
- Build and maintain headcount inventories and sizing models for both full-time and flexible workforce, partnering with Planning and Finance to forecast hiring needs
- Develop and present executive-level materials including presentations for business reviews and leadership updates
- Design operational management systems, frameworks, and playbooks that drive efficiency and scale across a sophisticated global recruiting organization
- Manage professional services and travel budget vs. actuals, support resource balancing, and lead ad-hoc analyses, special projects, and organizational initiatives as directed
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or a highly analytical strategic planning role
- Deep expertise in financial modeling, headcount analysis, resource planning, and scenario planning
- Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of statistical and forecasting principles
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex, ambiguous data into clear insights and actionable recommendations
- Expertise in developing and presenting materials for executive and board-level audiences
- Strong cross-functional relationship building skills across Finance, People, and business leadership
- High proficiency in Tableau or equivalent data visualization tools, with experience creating rich analysis and transforming data into useful insights
- Proficiency in Keynote for executive storytelling and data visualization
- Proven ability to lead multiple complex programs with global impact, managing competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Collaborative partner who shares ownership, elevates others, and operates effectively under ambiguity
- Great emotional intelligence and relationship-building skills with a passion for pushing things forward
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required; MBA preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Background at a top-tier management consulting firm with experience in HR, talent, or workforce strategy
- Experience supporting a large-scale global recruiting or HR organization
- Familiarity with talent market dynamics, win-loss analysis, and workforce planning methodologies
- Strong instincts for identifying the story within the data, not just reporting the numbers
- Track record of building trusted strategic partnerships across business units and senior leadership teams
- Experience developing PM frameworks and playbooks that scale across teams
- Demonstrated ability to deliver Keynote presentations that translate complex ideas into clear actionable insights for all organizational levels

Which companies sponsor visas for strategy leads in California?
Technology companies are the most active sponsors for strategy lead roles in California. Google, Meta, Apple, Salesforce, and Adobe have consistent H-1B filing histories for strategy and business operations titles. Management consulting firms including McKinsey, BCG, and Bain also sponsor through their San Francisco and Los Angeles offices. Biotech and healthcare companies concentrated in San Diego, such as Illumina and Qualcomm, round out the sponsoring employer base.
Which visa types are most common for strategy lead roles in California?
The H-1B is the most common visa for strategy leads in California. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation when it requires a bachelor's degree or higher in business, economics, finance, or a related field. Candidates with exceptional records may pursue the O-1A for extraordinary ability. Intracompany transferees at multinational firms can use the L-1A if moving into a managerial or executive strategy function from an overseas office.
How to find strategy lead visa sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship willingness, making it easier to identify California employers actively open to sponsoring strategy leads rather than sifting through unfiltered postings. You can narrow results by location to target San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, or San Diego clusters. Because strategy lead is a senior role, filtering by seniority level on Migrate Mate helps surface positions where sponsorship is more commonly offered.
Which cities in California have the most strategy lead sponsorship jobs?
The San Francisco Bay Area generates the highest volume of strategy lead sponsorship opportunities, driven by the concentration of technology and venture-backed companies in San Francisco, Palo Alto, and Mountain View. Los Angeles follows, with strength in media, entertainment, and e-commerce strategy roles. San Diego has a smaller but active market tied to biotech, defense, and telecom, with companies like Qualcomm regularly hiring for senior strategy positions.
Are there state-specific considerations for strategy lead visa sponsorship in California?
California's prevailing wage requirements apply through the Department of Labor's LCA process, and the state's high cost of living means prevailing wages for strategy lead roles are among the highest in the country. California-based employers are also subject to the state's strict worker classification and employment laws, which can affect how strategy lead roles are structured. Many sponsoring employers in California are large enough to meet the documentation and compliance requirements that H-1B sponsorship involves.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy lead jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
