Job Summary

Calphin is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our team at our Dublin, California location. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll and benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, 401(k), leave administration, and enrollment changes.
• Coordinate with HR and external payroll/benefits providers to process payroll and benefits.
• Maintain payroll records and reconcile payroll-related accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries and perform account reconciliations.
• Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, payroll liabilities, and general ledger accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare financial reports and support management with financial analysis.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring.
• Assist with audits and provide supporting payroll, benefits, and accounting documentation as required.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and applicable labor and payroll regulations.
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation.
• Collaborate with other departments to support operational and financial goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
• Experience processing payroll and administering employee benefits preferred.
• Knowledge of payroll tax regulations and employee benefits administration.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, payroll systems, and accounting software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to handle confidential employee and financial information with discretion.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification or progress toward CPA is a plus.
• Experience with Paychex or similar payroll platforms preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin is a plus.

Pay: Up to $62,500.00 per year
