Which companies sponsor visas for assistant project managers in Colorado?
Engineering and construction firms are among the most active sponsors for assistant project manager roles in Colorado. Companies like AECOM, Jacobs Engineering, Hensel Phelps, and Burns & McDonnell have filed H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications for project management positions in the state. Technology firms and government contractors based in the Denver metro area also sponsor these roles, particularly for candidates with specialized technical or infrastructure backgrounds.
Which visa types are most common for assistant project manager roles in Colorado?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for assistant project managers in Colorado, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as civil engineering, construction management, or information systems. Candidates from Canada and Mexico may qualify under the TN visa in the Engineer category. Australian citizens may explore the E-3 visa as an alternative to the H-1B lottery.
Which cities in Colorado have the most assistant project manager sponsorship jobs?
Denver concentrates the largest share of assistant project manager sponsorship opportunities in Colorado, driven by its construction boom, technology sector growth, and concentration of federal contractors. Aurora and Colorado Springs also have active hiring, particularly in defense-related project management and infrastructure development. Boulder attracts sponsoring employers in software and clean energy, where project coordination roles with technical requirements are more common.
How to find assistant project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify Colorado employers actively hiring assistant project managers and willing to sponsor. Rather than sorting through general job boards, you can browse roles by state and confirm sponsorship intent upfront. This is particularly useful for assistant project manager positions in Colorado, where sponsorship eligibility often depends on the technical specialization of the role.
Are there any Colorado-specific considerations for assistant project managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Colorado's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program are benchmarked to specific metropolitan areas, so wage levels in Denver differ from those in smaller Colorado markets. The state's significant presence of federal contractors, especially in aerospace and defense around Colorado Springs, means some assistant project manager positions require security clearances that are not available to most visa holders. Candidates targeting construction or infrastructure roles benefit from degrees in project management, civil engineering, or a closely related field.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored assistant project manager jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
