Which companies sponsor visas for assistant project managers in Wisconsin?
Construction and engineering firms like Mortenson Construction and Gilbane Building Company, healthcare organizations like UW Health and Froedtert Health, and manufacturers like Kimberly-Clark and Oshkosh Corporation have histories of sponsoring work visas for project management professionals in Wisconsin. Large consulting firms with Wisconsin offices, including Accenture and Huron Consulting, also periodically sponsor assistant project manager roles.
Which visa types are most common for assistant project manager roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for assistant project managers in Wisconsin, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field, qualifying it as a specialty occupation. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may pursue the TN visa under the USMCA if their degree aligns with the role's professional classification. L-1B visas occasionally apply for intracompany transfers within multinational firms.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most assistant project manager sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's largest market for assistant project manager sponsorship, driven by its construction activity, healthcare systems, and corporate headquarters. Madison follows closely, supported by the University of Wisconsin system, state government contractors, and a growing technology sector. Green Bay and Waukesha also generate hiring activity, particularly in manufacturing and infrastructure projects, though sponsorship opportunities there are more limited compared to the two major metros.
How to find assistant project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate lists assistant project manager roles in Wisconsin that are open to visa sponsorship, filtered specifically for international candidates. Rather than sorting through general job postings that rarely specify sponsorship, Migrate Mate focuses the search on employers with demonstrated sponsorship histories. This is particularly useful for Wisconsin roles in construction, healthcare, and manufacturing, where sponsorship availability is not always advertised prominently in standard job listings.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for assistant project managers in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's strong construction and manufacturing sectors create consistent demand for project coordination professionals, which supports ongoing sponsorship activity. Employers must pay H-1B workers the prevailing wage for assistant project manager roles as determined by the Department of Labor, which is based on Wisconsin-specific wage data rather than national averages. Graduates from UW-Madison, Marquette University, and Milwaukee School of Engineering represent a notable local pipeline that some Wisconsin employers have used to build familiarity with the sponsorship process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored assistant project manager jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
