Which companies sponsor visas for assistant project managers in Nebraska?
Kiewit Corporation, headquartered in Omaha, is one of the most active sponsors for project management roles in Nebraska given its scale as a national construction and engineering firm. Other notable sponsors include Mutual of Omaha, HDR Inc., and Nelnet. Larger healthcare systems such as Nebraska Medicine also hire assistant project managers and have supported H-1B sponsorship for qualified candidates in administrative and operational roles.
Which visa types are most common for assistant project manager roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for assistant project managers in Nebraska, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as construction management, business administration, or engineering. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN visa status under the USMCA if the role meets the relevant occupational criteria. L-1 visa transfers are also possible for multinational firms with Nebraska offices.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most assistant project manager sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the large majority of assistant project manager sponsorship activity in Nebraska, driven by its concentration of construction firms, financial services companies, and healthcare employers. Lincoln, as the state capital and home to the University of Nebraska system, also generates demand, particularly in facilities management and IT project coordination. Smaller markets like Grand Island and Kearney see occasional openings tied to agricultural and manufacturing projects.
How to find assistant project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for assistant project manager roles in Nebraska without manually screening hundreds of postings for sponsorship willingness. The platform surfaces positions from employers across Omaha, Lincoln, and other Nebraska markets that have demonstrated a history of sponsoring work visas. Filtering by role and state gives you a focused list relevant to your situation.
Are there any Nebraska-specific considerations for assistant project managers seeking sponsorship?
Nebraska falls under the Department of Labor's Midwest prevailing wage determinations, which tend to be lower than coastal markets, meaning the wage bar employers must meet for H-1B sponsorship is generally more accessible for employers here. The University of Nebraska system also produces a pipeline of project management graduates, which means competition can be meaningful for entry-level roles. Candidates with construction or agriculture-sector experience have a practical advantage given Nebraska's dominant industries.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored assistant project manager jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
