Which companies sponsor visas for assistant project managers in Minnesota?
Mortenson Construction, Ryan Companies, and Kraus-Anderson are among the most active sponsors in Minnesota's construction sector. On the healthcare side, Mayo Clinic and Allina Health regularly hire project management professionals. Technology firms headquartered in the Twin Cities, including Optum and Cargill's IT divisions, also have documented histories of sponsoring H-1B workers in project management and operations roles.
Which visa types are most common for assistant project manager roles in Minnesota?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for assistant project managers in Minnesota, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, construction management, or business. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa category for certain management roles. Those with extraordinary achievement may explore the O-1, though it is rarely the primary route for this occupation.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most assistant project manager sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and St. Paul account for the overwhelming majority of assistant project manager sponsorship activity in Minnesota, driven by large construction, healthcare, and technology employers headquartered there. Rochester is a secondary hub due to Mayo Clinic's scale of operations. Minnetonka and Plymouth, as suburban business corridors, also host corporate offices where project management roles with sponsorship potential are posted.
How to find assistant project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters assistant project manager roles in Minnesota by visa sponsorship availability, saving you from sorting through employers who don't sponsor. You can browse current openings across construction, healthcare, and tech sectors in the Twin Cities and beyond. Migrate Mate also provides context on which employers have sponsored workers in these roles, so you can prioritize your applications strategically.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for assistant project managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Minnesota's construction sector is subject to prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program, meaning employers must pay the DOL-determined wage for the role and location, not an entry-level rate. The state's strong union presence in construction can affect how roles are classified for LCA purposes. Additionally, assistant project managers entering through university pipelines at the University of Minnesota or Minnesota State may have OPT windows that give them time to secure sponsorship before needing an H-1B.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored assistant project manager jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
