Which companies sponsor visas for assistant project managers in Texas?
Large construction firms like Turner Construction, Fluor Corporation, and Jacobs Engineering are among the Texas employers with a history of H-1B sponsorship for project management roles. Major energy companies including ExxonMobil and Chevron Phillips also sponsor assistant project managers in the Houston area. Technology employers in Austin and Dallas, such as Dell Technologies and AT&T, round out the sponsorship picture across industries.
Which visa types are most common for assistant project manager roles in Texas?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for assistant project managers in Texas, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as civil engineering, construction management, or business. Some candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship pursue TN visa status using management consultant or engineer classifications. Candidates with extraordinary project leadership credentials may qualify for the O-1 visa, though this is far less common at the assistant level.
How to find assistant project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for assistant project manager roles in Texas without manually screening hundreds of postings. You can narrow results by city, industry, and visa type. Because Texas spans construction, energy, and technology, filtering by sector on Migrate Mate helps you identify which employers are actively sponsoring in your area of specialization.
Which cities in Texas have the most assistant project manager sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads the state for assistant project manager sponsorship jobs, driven by its concentration of energy, petrochemical, and large-scale construction projects. Dallas-Fort Worth follows closely, with strong demand from commercial real estate, infrastructure, and corporate technology campuses. Austin is a growing market, particularly for assistant project managers in software and tech-adjacent construction. San Antonio also has consistent hiring through military infrastructure and healthcare construction projects.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for assistant project managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since the Department of Labor sets H-1B wage floors based on local area data rather than statewide averages. Houston, Dallas, and Austin each have separate prevailing wage determinations, so an offer in one city may not meet the threshold in another. Texas also has strong university pipelines from UT Austin, Texas A&M, and Rice University, which means many employers are already familiar with sponsoring graduates into assistant project manager roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored assistant project manager jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
