Which companies sponsor visas for assistant project managers in Kansas?
Burns & McDonnell, Spirit AeroSystems, Evergy, and Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) are among Kansas employers with documented histories of sponsoring work visas for project management roles. Engineering and construction firms supporting Wichita's aerospace sector and Kansas City's energy infrastructure tend to file the most Labor Condition Applications for assistant project manager positions.
Which visa types are most common for assistant project manager roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for assistant project managers in Kansas, particularly for roles requiring a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or information systems. The L-1B is relevant for intracompany transferees moving into project coordination roles within multinational firms. TN status is available to qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals in eligible specialty occupations.
Which cities in Kansas have the most assistant project manager sponsorship jobs?
Wichita and the Kansas City metro area (including Overland Park and Lenexa) generate the most assistant project manager sponsorship activity in Kansas. Wichita's aerospace and manufacturing sector drives demand for project coordinators at firms like Spirit AeroSystems. The Kansas City corridor adds healthcare IT, energy, and engineering project roles with documented visa sponsorship histories.
How to find assistant project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, making it straightforward to identify assistant project manager openings in Kansas where employers are actively willing to sponsor. Rather than sorting through general postings, you can browse roles verified for sponsorship across Wichita, Overland Park, and Kansas City, focusing your search on engineering, construction, and healthcare IT employers.
Are there any Kansas-specific considerations for assistant project managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Kansas does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal obligations, but prevailing wage compliance under Department of Labor rules applies to all H-1B filings. Wichita's aerospace concentration means many assistant project manager roles intersect with defense contracting, which can introduce security clearance requirements that complicate or limit sponsorship for some international candidates. University of Kansas and Kansas State graduates entering project management fields represent a notable local hiring pipeline.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored assistant project manager jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
