Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for assistant project managers?
Oregon's largest visa sponsors for assistant project manager roles include Intel, which operates major semiconductor facilities in Hillsboro, along with large construction firms like Hoffman Construction and Skanska. Healthcare systems such as OHSU and PeaceHealth, as well as engineering consultancies operating in the Portland metro area, also have documented H-1B sponsorship histories for project coordination positions.
Which visa types are most common for assistant project manager roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa for assistant project manager roles in Oregon, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as construction management, engineering, or business. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for the TN visa under the engineer or management consultant category, depending on how the role is defined by the employer.
Which cities in Oregon have the most assistant project manager sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the majority of assistant project manager sponsorship opportunities in Oregon, driven by its concentration of tech companies, construction activity, and healthcare institutions. Hillsboro is notable for semiconductor and manufacturing projects tied to Intel's campus. Salem and Eugene also generate openings in public infrastructure, university construction, and government contracting.
How to find assistant project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find assistant project manager roles in Oregon without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. Search by state and role on Migrate Mate to surface employers with active sponsorship history in Oregon's construction, tech, and healthcare sectors.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for assistant project managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Oregon's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program apply based on the specific metropolitan area, so Portland metro roles carry different wage floors than positions in rural counties. Oregon State University and University of Oregon produce engineering and business graduates who enter the assistant project manager pipeline, meaning some employers have established international hiring processes already in place.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored assistant project manager jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
