Which companies sponsor visas for assistant project managers in South Carolina?
Construction firms, manufacturers, and engineering companies have historically filed for work visa sponsorships in South Carolina. Boeing's North Charleston facility, Volvo Cars in Berkeley County, and large general contractors working on industrial and infrastructure projects are among the employers who have sponsored project management roles. Staffing and engineering consultancies operating statewide also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data for this occupation.
Which visa types are most common for assistant project manager roles in South Carolina?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for assistant project managers, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as civil engineering, construction management, or architecture. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may qualify for the TN visa under NAFTA/USMCA in certain engineering-adjacent roles. Australian nationals holding relevant degrees may also explore the E-3 visa as an alternative to the H-1B lottery.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most assistant project manager sponsorship jobs?
Charleston leads in sponsorship activity, driven by its port infrastructure, aerospace manufacturing, and a significant construction pipeline tied to industrial growth along the coast. Columbia, as the state capital, sees demand from government contractors and healthcare organizations. Greenville is a growing hub for advanced manufacturing and automotive supply chain projects, with companies in the Upstate region regularly hiring for project management support roles.
How to find assistant project manager visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for assistant project manager roles in South Carolina without manually screening hundreds of postings. Because sponsoring employers are not always easy to identify from a standard job listing, using a platform built around sponsorship data saves significant time. Migrate Mate also surfaces roles across construction, manufacturing, and engineering sectors where South Carolina sponsorship is most active.
What should international candidates know about assistant project manager hiring in South Carolina?
South Carolina's project management market is heavily tied to industrial construction and manufacturing expansion, meaning roles often require site-based work rather than remote arrangements. Employers sponsoring H-1B petitions must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the role and location. Candidates should ensure their degree field aligns directly with the job description, as specialty occupation determinations for assistant project manager titles can receive scrutiny from USCIS if the degree requirement is not clearly documented.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored assistant project manager jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
