Associate Design Director, Creative Technology
Requisition ID: 13824
Job Location(s):
Broomfield, CO, US, 80021
Time in Office: Onsite
At Crocs, Inc., every career offers a chance to make a real impact. No two journeys look the same. And that's exactly how we like it. Whether you’re welcoming customers into our stores, collaborating with global teams at our headquarters, or keeping operations moving at our distribution centers, your impact is real and valued. At Crocs, Inc. you’re not expected to fit a mold. You’re encouraged to break it and create something better.
Overview
We are seeking an Associate Design Director, Creative Technology, to help shape the future of creative storytelling at Crocs. This role sits at the intersection of design, emerging technology, and brand expression. Part designer and part creative technologist, this leader will explore new ways of creating premium, culturally relevant content through AI-assisted design, generative tools, and evolving creative workflows.
Working closely with Creative, Brand, and Marketing leaders, this role will contribute directly to campaigns and brand storytelling while also helping evolve how creative work is made — prototyping new tools, experimenting with workflows, and guiding teams in modern approaches to content creation. We’re looking for a curious builder and creative explorer with strong design instincts and a portfolio that demonstrates experimentation with emerging technologies.
You’re curious about how creativity is evolving. You experiment with new tools before they become mainstream. Generative platforms, AI-assisted workflows, and emerging technologies are part of how you explore ideas — not because they’re trendy, but because they unlock new creative possibilities.
You think like both a designer and a builder. Craft matters to you, but so do the systems and tools that help great ideas come to life.
You enjoy prototyping, testing, and sharing what you learn. Sometimes that means designing a campaign asset. Sometimes it means inventing a new way for a team to create.
You’re inspired by culture, design, and the unexpected. At Crocs, we call that Wonderfully Unordinary.
What You'll Do
- Creative Technology Leadership: Explore and apply emerging tools — including AI-assisted design and generative media — to expand how Crocs creates brand storytelling.
- Design and Create: Contribute directly to the creation of premium brand content across campaigns, launches, and key brand moments.
- Prototype the Future: Experiment with new creative formats, tools, and workflows to unlock new possibilities for storytelling and design.
- Build Modern Creative Workflows: Develop creative pipelines that combine design craft, generative tools, and digital production techniques to accelerate experimentation.
- Elevate Brand Expression: Ensure all work reflects Crocs’ visual voice while pushing for fresh, culturally relevant design.
- Guide Teams in New Tools: Help designers and creative partners adopt emerging technologies and evolve how creative work is made.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with Creative Directors, Designers, Brand, Marketing, and Product teams to bring ideas to life across digital, social, retail, and experiential channels.
- Champion Craft: Maintain high standards of design excellence across typography, composition, motion, and storytelling.
- Partner with External Creators: Work with agencies, artists, and technologists to bring innovative ideas and collaborations to life.
- Help Define What’s Next: Identify opportunities where emerging technologies can unlock new forms of storytelling for the Crocs brand.
What You'll Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design, Digital Media, or related field.
- At least 8+ years of experience in design, digital creativity, creative technology, or brand storytelling.
- At least 3+ years of leadership experience.
- Portfolio demonstrating innovative use of emerging creative tools, generative workflows, or experimental design approaches.
- Proficiency in modern creative tools including Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, with experience exploring generative platforms.
- Experience working with AI-assisted design tools and creative prompting frameworks.
- Strong design craft with exceptional attention to typography, composition, layout, and visual storytelling.
- Systems thinker with the ability to translate creative ideas into modern workflows and production pipelines.
- Curious, experimental approach with a passion for exploring new creative tools and technologies.
- Passion for culture, building, and the Crocs brand — with an instinct for work that feels expressive, authentic, and wonderfully unordinary.
- Please include a portfolio demonstrating experimentation with emerging creative technologies, generative workflows, or AI-assisted design. If you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t perfectly match every qualification, we still encourage you to apply.
The Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment. We accept applications on an ongoing basis.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability, or any other classification protected by law.

Which companies sponsor visas for creative roles in Colorado?
Denver-based technology companies, marketing agencies, and media firms represent the most active sponsors for creative roles in Colorado. Companies like Ibotta, Checkr, and larger agencies with national client rosters have filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications for designers and content strategists. Boulder-area startups with venture backing also sponsor, particularly for UX and product design positions where specialized skills are hard to source domestically.
Which visa types are most common for creative roles in Colorado?
The H-1B is the most common visa for creative professionals in Colorado, but it requires demonstrating that the role qualifies as a specialty occupation with a specific degree requirement. The O-1A or O-1B is an alternative for creatives with a strong portfolio of awards, publications, or recognition. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying creative categories. Each pathway has different documentation requirements depending on the role.
How to find creative visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, so you can browse creative roles in Colorado without manually screening employers. The platform indexes positions in graphic design, UX, motion, content strategy, and related disciplines from Colorado employers who have demonstrated a history of sponsoring international candidates. Searching by state and role category on Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to general job browsing.
Which cities in Colorado have the most creative sponsorship jobs?
Denver accounts for the majority of sponsored creative roles in Colorado, particularly in the River North Art District and the central business area where agencies and tech companies cluster. Boulder follows closely, driven by its UX and product design ecosystem tied to software and health-tech companies. Fort Collins has a smaller but active creative market connected to Colorado State University and regional marketing firms.
Are there state-specific considerations for creative visa sponsorship in Colorado?
Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires employers to post salary ranges publicly, which gives international candidates useful context when evaluating whether an offer meets H-1B prevailing wage requirements before applying. Colorado's university system, including the University of Denver and University of Colorado Boulder, produces a pipeline of creative talent that some employers sponsor after OPT, making those networks worth engaging for referrals and employer introductions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored creative jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
