Which companies sponsor visas for data contributors in Colorado?
Colorado employers known to sponsor work visas include Lockheed Martin, Palantir, DoorDash, and a range of Boulder and Denver-based technology firms. Data contributor roles sit within data engineering, machine learning, and product teams at these organizations. Sponsorship availability depends on the specific team, budget cycle, and whether the role meets specialty occupation criteria under the relevant visa category.
Which visa types are most common for data contributor roles in Colorado?
The H-1B is the most common visa for data contributor roles, provided the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, statistics, or information systems. Some employers also use the O-1A for candidates with distinguished records. Australians may have access to the E-3, which follows a similar specialty occupation standard but without an annual lottery.
Which cities in Colorado have the most data contributor sponsorship jobs?
Denver and Boulder account for the majority of data contributor sponsorship activity in Colorado. Denver hosts enterprise technology firms, logistics companies, and consulting practices with active data teams. Boulder's startup ecosystem, anchored by university research from the University of Colorado, produces consistent demand for data annotation, labeling, and pipeline contributors. Colorado Springs sees more limited sponsorship activity, concentrated in defense-adjacent contractors.
How to find data contributor visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for data contributor roles in Colorado without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform surfaces openings from Colorado employers across Denver, Boulder, and beyond. Filtering by role type and state helps narrow results to opportunities where sponsorship is explicitly part of the hiring process.
Are there state-specific considerations for data contributors seeking sponsorship in Colorado?
Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires employers to disclose compensation ranges in job postings, which gives international candidates useful context when evaluating roles. Prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions are set at the federal level by the Department of Labor, not by Colorado law. The University of Colorado and Colorado State University also produce data-focused graduates who sometimes transition from OPT into sponsored roles with in-state employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data contributor jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
