Which companies in Colorado sponsor visas for data science engineers?
Several large employers in Colorado have established H-1B visa sponsorship histories for data science engineering roles, including Lockheed Martin, Palantir Technologies, Arrow Electronics, and Dish Network. The Denver-Boulder corridor also hosts regional offices of Google, Amazon, and Salesforce that sponsor data science talent. Aerospace and defense contractors along the Front Range represent a particularly active sponsorship segment for this role type.
Which visa types are most common for data science engineer roles in Colorado?
The H-1B is the most common visa for data science engineers in Colorado, given that the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, statistics, or a related field, qualifying it as a specialty occupation. Some candidates also enter on OPT or STEM OPT extensions from universities like CU Boulder before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship. O-1A visas are occasionally used for candidates with exceptional research or industry recognition.
Which cities in Colorado have the most data science engineer sponsorship jobs?
Denver and Boulder account for the majority of data science engineer sponsorship activity in Colorado. Denver's status as a regional tech and finance hub drives demand from both established corporations and growth-stage companies. Boulder's concentration of data-intensive startups and proximity to CU Boulder creates additional opportunities. Colorado Springs also has sponsoring employers, primarily in defense and aerospace sectors.
How to find data science engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it possible to search data science engineer roles in Colorado without sifting through positions that don't support international candidates. Because sponsorship willingness isn't always stated in standard job postings, using a platform built around that filter saves significant time. Migrate Mate covers employers across the Denver-Boulder corridor and broader Front Range tech market.
Are there state-specific factors that affect data science engineer sponsorship in Colorado?
Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires employers to disclose compensation ranges in job postings, which gives data science engineer candidates useful context when assessing whether a role meets H-1B prevailing wage requirements before applying. The state's strong aerospace, energy tech, and fintech sectors create steady demand for data science engineering skills. CU Boulder and Colorado State University also produce a steady pipeline of STEM graduates, which shapes the local hiring and sponsorship market.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data science engineer jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
