At Apple, extraordinary ideas have a way of quickly becoming extraordinary products, services, and customer experiences. Sound is an essential and compelling facet of the customer experience. Apple has assembled an elite Acoustics team that enables our customers to experience music with delight, communicate with clarity, and enjoy elegant sound throughout our product line. In Apple Acoustics we work with the utmost attention to detail, directly impacting the design of products that millions of people around the world love!
Apple’s Transducer Design team in the Acoustics org delivers the sound you hear in Apple products by creating speaker designs and developing groundbreaking technologies to improve audio performance and quality. We partner with acoustic engineers, multi-functional teams, and direct contract manufacturers to design and build Apple’s next generation of speaker modules. We are looking for a Product Design Engineer with stellar mechanical engineering skills and detailed manufacturing knowledge to help take our products to the next level. Could this be you?
Description
As a Product Design Engineer on the Acoustics Transducer Design team you will design and validate custom speaker modules for Apple’s highly space-constrained products. You will lead the mechanical design of speaker module assembly and their components. You will partner with Transducer Design Engineers (who optimize the acoustic and magnetic performance of the module) and system Product Design Engineers (who integrate the module into a system).
Working together you will balance the trade-offs between acoustic performance, mechanical design, manufacturing, and reliability. This role requires creative design work to generate 3D CAD and 2D drawings for speaker modules from scratch for all components, including: plastic enclosures, metal stampings, insert molded electrical connections, over-molded seals, magnet system subassemblies, and more. The designs will be reviewed by suppliers and multi-functional teams, requiring timely modifications to address design issues without impacting project schedule. You are expected to handle multiple projects at the same time while working with multiple suppliers.
Additionally, you will contribute to improvements in the acoustic performance and reliability of the speaker modules by pursuing innovative ideas that bring the module to the limit of what’s possible. This means developing new design approaches, exploring different assembly methods, introducing new materials, and implementing new manufacturing processes.
After parts are released for manufacturing, you will ensure speaker components and modules can be manufactured in high volumes without issues, while meeting performance specifications. This involves iterating on the design, developing test plans, generating reliability specifications, performing failure analysis, and conducting experiments (DOEs) to find design solutions and implement corrective actions.
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field, with 3+ years of work experience required.
Mechanical design experience generating 3D CAD and 2D drawings is required (NX experience is preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience shipping products in the consumer electronics industry, or closely related industry.
Experience designing small or micro electromechanical assemblies.
Ability to achieve sophisticated geometry by understanding and influencing tooling design.
Experience designing and selecting materials for mass produced injection molded plastic parts, progressively stamped metal parts, and the assembly processes that bring these parts together.
Proactive problem solving, including the development of reliability test plans and conducting root cause analysis.
Capable of working with global suppliers and guiding actions in assembly and part production facilities.
Ability to use dimensional data to inform part design decisions including: conducting tolerance stack analysis, applying GD&T to 2D drawings, establishing datums, understanding measurement techniques, analyzing data, identifying issues from dimensional data, and guiding part quality improvements.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $132,100 and $244,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses - including tuition. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation. Learn more about Apple Benefits

Tips for Finding H-1B1 Singapore Sponsorship Jobs in Colorado
Verify your occupation meets specialty requirements
Pull your job title's O*NET profile and confirm it requires a theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge. Consular officers in Singapore scrutinize this more closely than most applicants expect, so document the connection before your employer files.
Target Front Range employers with LCA filing history
Use Migrate Mate to filter Colorado employers by verified H-1B1 Singapore Labor Condition Application activity, so you're applying to companies that have already cleared DOL certification before, not ones learning the process for the first time.
Cross-check offered wages against OFLC Wage Search
Before signing an offer, run the job title and Colorado county through the OFLC Wage Search to confirm the salary meets the prevailing wage for your Level I through IV classification. A wage shortfall triggers LCA rejection before your application reaches the consulate.
Align your degree field precisely with the role description
USCIS requires a direct relationship between your specific degree field and the duties listed in the LCA. A software engineering role at a Boulder aerospace firm needs your transcript to show a computing or engineering discipline, not a broadly related STEM field.
Prepare for consular processing from Denver without a petition
Unlike H-1B visa, the H-1B1 Singapore visa is obtained directly at the U.S. consulate in Singapore without a separately approved USCIS application. Coordinate your interview scheduling with your employer's LCA certification timeline to avoid gaps between offer acceptance and your start date.

Which industries in Colorado sponsor the most H-1B1 Singapore visas?
Technology and software development firms concentrated in Denver, Boulder, and the Denver Tech Center account for the largest share of H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship activity in Colorado. Aerospace and defense contractors along the Front Range, bioscience companies in the Denver metro, and financial services employers in downtown Denver also sponsor regularly. Engineering consultancies in Fort Collins and Colorado Springs round out the active sectors.
Which cities in Colorado have the most H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs?
Denver generates the highest concentration of H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship roles in Colorado, driven by its technology, financial services, and professional services sectors. Boulder's startup and research ecosystem produces consistent demand, particularly in software and life sciences. Fort Collins attracts engineering talent, and Colorado Springs supports aerospace and defense roles. Smaller but active markets include Broomfield and the Denver Tech Center corridor.
What types of roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship in Colorado?
Roles must qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific, directly related field. In Colorado, qualifying positions commonly include software engineers, data scientists, financial analysts, aerospace engineers, biomedical researchers, and systems architects. USCIS evaluates whether the position's duties require the theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge, so job descriptions must reflect that standard clearly.
How do I find H-1B1 Singapore jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate lets you search Colorado employers filtered by verified H-1B1 Singapore Labor Condition Application filing history, so every result reflects a company that has already engaged with the DOL certification process. This approach focuses your applications on employers familiar with the H-1B1 Singapore pathway rather than those encountering it for the first time, which shortens the timeline from offer to consular interview.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Singapore jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
