Which technology companies sponsor H-2B visas in Colorado?
Technology companies in Colorado that have filed H-2B Labor Condition Applications tend to be in IT services, managed services, software implementation, and technical consulting. Firms in the Denver metro area, Boulder County, and Colorado Springs have appeared in DOL disclosure data for H-2B petitions in technology-related occupations. Reviewing OFLC disclosure data by state and occupation code gives the most current picture of which employers have active filings.
Which cities in Colorado have the most technology H-2B sponsorship jobs?
Denver leads Colorado for technology H-2B sponsorship activity, reflecting the city's concentration of IT services firms, software companies, and enterprise technology employers. Boulder is notable for its technology startup and research-oriented employers. Colorado Springs has a presence in defense-adjacent IT contracting. Fort Collins and the Northern Colorado corridor also include technology employers with documented H-2B filing history in occupational categories covering software and systems roles.
What types of technology roles typically qualify for H-2B sponsorship?
H-2B covers temporary nonagricultural work, so qualifying technology roles are typically those with a defined project end date, seasonal demand, or a one-time staffing need rather than permanent ongoing positions. Software implementation specialists, IT support technicians, systems integration roles, and project-based technical contractors are among the occupational categories that have appeared in H-2B filings. The role must fit the H-2B temporary need standard, which distinguishes it from H-1B visa specialty occupation sponsorship.
How do I find technology H-2B sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate surfaces technology roles in Colorado where employers have documented H-2B filing history, letting you filter by state, visa type, and industry rather than sifting through general job postings. Because H-2B sponsorship for technology roles is less common than H-1B, targeting employers with verified DOL filing activity in Colorado significantly narrows the search. Migrate Mate's employer data is drawn from OFLC disclosure records, giving you a verifiable starting point for outreach.
Are there state-specific considerations for H-2B technology sponsorship in Colorado?
Colorado employers petitioning for H-2B workers must comply with federal DOL temporary labor certification requirements, including prevailing wage obligations tied to the specific occupation and geographic area. For technology roles, the prevailing wage is determined by occupation code and the Denver-Aurora or other Colorado metropolitan statistical area where the work is performed. Colorado has no separate state-level H-2B registration, but employers must satisfy federal requirements before USCIS can approve the petition.
What is the prevailing wage for H-2B technology jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
