Nurse Practitioner Visa Sponsorship Jobs in Colorado
Colorado's nurse practitioner job market spans major health systems like UCHealth, SCL Health, and Children's Hospital Colorado, with strong demand across Denver, Colorado Springs, and growing rural communities. International NPs most often pursue H-1B visa or TN visa (for Canadian and Mexican nationals) visa sponsorship, and Colorado's shortage of primary care providers keeps sponsorship activity steady.

Which companies sponsor visas for nurse practitioners in Colorado?
UCHealth, SCL Health (now Intermountain Health), Children's Hospital Colorado, Centura Health, and Denver Health are among the larger Colorado health systems with established HR infrastructure for visa sponsorship. Federally Qualified Health Centers serving rural and underserved areas also sponsor nurse practitioners, partly because workforce shortages in those settings make international hiring more practical.
Which visa types are most common for nurse practitioner roles in Colorado?
The H-1B is the most common visa for nurse practitioners in Colorado, as NP roles generally qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a master's degree. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA/USMCA professional categories. Some NPs already holding immigrant visas through the EB-3 pathway also find employment with Colorado health systems willing to continue that sponsorship.
Which cities in Colorado have the most nurse practitioner sponsorship jobs?
Denver and its metro area account for the largest share of NP sponsorship activity, anchored by major health systems and academic medical centers. Colorado Springs has a growing healthcare sector tied to a large military and veteran population. Fort Collins and Boulder see demand driven by university health services and regional hospital networks. Rural areas like Pueblo and the Western Slope also post sponsored NP roles, often through critical shortage programs.
How to find nurse practitioner visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, so you can search nurse practitioner roles in Colorado without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. Because NP sponsorship is tied to specific employer capacity and state licensing requirements, using a platform built for sponsored roles saves meaningful time. Migrate Mate's Colorado NP listings are updated regularly as health systems post new openings.
Are there state-specific considerations for nurse practitioners seeking sponsorship in Colorado?
Colorado is a full-practice authority state, meaning nurse practitioners can evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe without a physician supervisory agreement, which makes NP roles more autonomous and often more attractive to employers. International NPs must still obtain a Colorado state license from the Colorado Board of Nursing before beginning work, and licensure verification is typically required before an H-1B petition can be filed.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored nurse practitioner jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
