Which companies sponsor visas for project controls managers in Colorado?
Energy and construction companies are among the most active sponsors for project controls manager roles in Colorado. Xcel Energy, Kiewit, Turner Construction, and Jacobs Engineering have filed H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications for project controls positions in the state. Aerospace and defense contractors including Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman, both with significant Colorado operations, also sponsor international candidates for technically specialized project controls roles.
Which visa types are most common for project controls manager roles in Colorado?
The H-1B visa is the most common route for project controls managers in Colorado, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under the engineer category. Those with project controls experience gained at a multinational company may also explore the L-1A or L-1B intracompany transfer visa.
Which cities in Colorado have the most project controls manager sponsorship jobs?
Denver accounts for the largest share of project controls manager sponsorship activity in Colorado, driven by its concentration of energy companies, engineering firms, and large-scale infrastructure projects. Aurora and Colorado Springs attract demand from aerospace and defense contractors. Pueblo and the Front Range corridor see additional openings tied to utility and industrial construction projects, particularly as the state expands its renewable energy infrastructure.
How to find project controls manager visa sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers have a track record of visa sponsorship, making it the most direct way to find project controls manager opportunities in Colorado. You can search by role and state to surface openings at energy companies, EPC contractors, and aerospace firms in the Denver metro and Front Range. Filtering by sponsorship history saves significant time compared to applying broadly and asking employers about sponsorship after the fact.
Are there any Colorado-specific considerations for project controls manager visa sponsorship?
Colorado's Department of Labor and Employment sets prevailing wage benchmarks that H-1B employers must meet for project controls manager positions, and these figures vary between Denver, Colorado Springs, and rural counties. The state's growing renewable energy sector, including wind and solar development along the Front Range, has increased demand for project controls professionals with EPC and owner's representative experience. Colorado State University and the University of Colorado also produce engineering graduates who sometimes transition into project controls roles locally.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project controls manager jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
