Which companies in Delaware sponsor visas for engineering program managers?
DuPont, Incyte Corporation, AstraZeneca, and JPMorgan Chase have historically filed H-1B petitions for engineering program manager roles in Delaware. Smaller biotech and specialty chemical firms in the Wilmington area also sponsor, particularly when candidates bring domain expertise in process engineering or clinical operations that is difficult to source domestically. Sponsorship frequency varies by business cycle and headcount.
What visa types are most common for engineering program managers in Delaware?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for engineering program managers in Delaware, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN status under the NAFTA-successor agreement. Those with extraordinary achievement may explore the O-1A, though it requires substantial documentation.
Which cities in Delaware have the most engineering program manager sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington accounts for the largest share of engineering program manager sponsorship activity in Delaware, driven by its concentration of pharmaceutical, chemical, and financial services headquarters. Newark, home to the University of Delaware and several technology and materials science employers, is a secondary hub. Dover sees occasional openings tied to state government contractors and defense-adjacent engineering operations.
How to find engineering program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify Delaware employers actively hiring engineering program managers who need H-1B or other work visa support. Rather than sifting through general job boards, you can search Migrate Mate for engineering program manager roles in Delaware and see which postings are tied to sponsors with confirmed filing histories in technical program management.
Are there state-specific considerations for engineering program manager roles in Delaware?
Delaware's prevailing wage obligations for H-1B petitions are benchmarked to the Wilmington metropolitan statistical area, which reflects the high concentration of pharmaceutical and financial sector employers. Many engineering program manager openings in Delaware sit within regulated industries like life sciences and chemicals, where program managers often need familiarity with FDA or EPA compliance frameworks, adding a layer of domain specificity that shapes both hiring requirements and petition documentation.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored engineering program manager jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
