Which companies sponsor visas for engineering program managers in North Carolina?
Companies with a consistent track record of sponsoring engineering program managers in North Carolina include Cisco, Lenovo, and Red Hat in the Research Triangle, along with Fidelity Investments and Bank of America in Charlotte. Pharmaceutical and biotech firms such as Novo Nordisk and Biogen, which operate large campuses in the Raleigh-Durham area, also regularly sponsor H-1B workers in technical program management roles.
Which visa types are most common for engineering program manager roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for engineering program managers in North Carolina. The role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation because it typically requires at least a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1A or L-1B status through multinational employers with North Carolina offices, such as Cisco or Lenovo, also appear frequently in disclosure data.
How to find engineering program manager visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by role and state, making it straightforward to browse engineering program manager positions in North Carolina where employers have indicated visa sponsorship availability. Because sponsorship willingness is not always advertised clearly, Migrate Mate's curated board focuses on employers actively hiring international candidates, saving you from sorting through listings that exclude visa holders.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most engineering program manager sponsorship jobs?
The Research Triangle, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, accounts for the largest share of engineering program manager sponsorship activity in North Carolina, driven by its density of technology, pharmaceutical, and cloud infrastructure employers. Charlotte is the second-largest concentration, anchored by fintech and enterprise software companies. Smaller but notable clusters exist near Morrisville and Cary, where several major tech campuses are located.
Are there any North Carolina-specific factors engineering program managers should know when seeking visa sponsorship?
North Carolina's Research Triangle Park is one of the largest research and technology parks in the United States, which means engineering program manager roles here often sit within large, established organizations that have dedicated HR and immigration infrastructure. The state's ongoing semiconductor and advanced manufacturing investments, including recent facility expansions, have expanded demand for technical program management. Employers filing Labor Condition Applications must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role and location, which is determined by Department of Labor wage data specific to the Raleigh-Durham or Charlotte metropolitan areas.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored engineering program manager jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
