Which companies in New York sponsor visas for engineering program managers?
Large technology and financial services companies are the most active sponsors in New York. Amazon, Google, Meta, IBM, Microsoft, and JPMorgan Chase have all filed H-1B petitions for engineering program manager roles in the state. Consulting firms like Accenture and Deloitte also sponsor regularly. Sponsorship activity is concentrated among companies with established legal and HR infrastructure to manage the process.
Which visa types are most common for engineering program managers in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for engineering program managers in New York, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. L-1A and L-1B visas are also used when candidates transfer from a company's overseas office. Candidates already authorized under OPT or STEM OPT are often on a path toward employer-sponsored H-1B petitions.
Which cities in New York have the most engineering program manager sponsorship jobs?
New York City accounts for the overwhelming majority of engineering program manager sponsorship opportunities in the state, particularly in Manhattan's Midtown and Lower Manhattan financial districts, and in Brooklyn's growing tech corridor. Smaller concentrations exist in Albany, where state government and defense contractors operate, and in the Hudson Valley, which hosts IBM's research and development facilities. Remote roles based in New York are also increasingly common.
How to find engineering program manager visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters engineering program manager roles in New York by confirmed visa sponsorship, so you're not sifting through listings that won't support work authorization. The platform surfaces roles from companies with active H-1B filing histories in the state. Searching by role and location on Migrate Mate is a practical starting point for targeting employers already familiar with the sponsorship process.
Are there state-specific factors that affect engineering program manager sponsorship in New York?
New York follows federal prevailing wage rules, but the Department of Labor's wage determinations for the New York City metropolitan area are among the highest in the country, reflecting the local cost of labor. Employers sponsoring engineering program managers here must certify on the Labor Condition Application that the offered wage meets the prevailing level for the specific location. New York's strong university pipeline, including Cornell Tech and Columbia, also means employers are accustomed to recruiting and sponsoring international candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored engineering program manager jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
