Which companies sponsor visas for engineering program managers in Tennessee?
Tennessee employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories for engineering program managers include HCA Healthcare and its technology subsidiaries in Nashville, Nissan's North American operations in Smyrna, Volkswagen's manufacturing facility in Chattanooga, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Mid-sized defense contractors and healthcare IT firms in the Nashville metro area also appear regularly in Department of Labor LCA disclosure data for this role category.
Which visa types are most common for engineering program managers in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for engineering program managers in Tennessee, as the role typically meets the specialty occupation standard requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Candidates with extraordinary achievement may qualify for the O-1A. Those transferring within a multinational organization to a Tennessee office may be eligible for the L-1A or L-1B depending on their managerial or specialized knowledge responsibilities.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most engineering program manager sponsorship jobs?
Nashville leads Tennessee for engineering program manager sponsorship activity, driven by its large healthcare technology and finance technology employer base. Chattanooga follows, supported by automotive manufacturing and advanced materials companies. Oak Ridge and Knoxville generate sponsorship demand through the national laboratory system and University of Tennessee research partnerships. Memphis sees activity primarily through logistics technology and regional manufacturing operations.
How to find engineering program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to employers open to visa sponsorship, so you can search engineering program manager roles in Tennessee without sorting through positions that exclude international candidates. Because the role spans healthcare technology in Nashville, automotive manufacturing in Chattanooga, and federal research in Oak Ridge, filtering by industry alongside visa sponsorship status on Migrate Mate helps you focus on employers whose hiring patterns match your background and visa category.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for engineering program managers in Tennessee?
Tennessee has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage calculations and total compensation benchmarking that employers must submit with H-1B Labor Condition Applications. The state's concentration of federal contractors in the Oak Ridge and Huntsville corridors means some positions carry security clearance requirements that can complicate sponsorship timelines. Tennessee's growing healthcare technology sector also means many engineering program manager roles sit at the intersection of software and regulated medical device development, which may influence how employers classify the position for visa purposes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored engineering program manager jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
