Which companies in Pennsylvania sponsor visas for engineering program managers?
Several large Pennsylvania employers have consistent H-1B sponsorship records for engineering program managers. Siemens and SAP have significant operations in the Philadelphia area. Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems sponsor engineering program management roles through their defense contracts in the southeast. In Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon's affiliated spinouts and companies like Ansys and Wabtec have also filed LCAs for this role type.
Which visa types are most common for engineering program manager roles in Pennsylvania?
The H-1B is the most frequently used visa for engineering program managers in Pennsylvania, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN status under the engineer category. Australians may be eligible for the E-3 visa, which follows a similar specialty occupation framework but has no annual lottery.
How to find engineering program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Pennsylvania?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for engineering program manager roles in Pennsylvania without sorting through postings from employers who don't sponsor. You can narrow results by city, such as Philadelphia or Pittsburgh, and by companies with documented sponsorship histories. This is particularly useful for engineering program manager searches since sponsorship willingness varies significantly across Pennsylvania's defense, life sciences, and technology sectors.
Which cities in Pennsylvania have the most engineering program manager sponsorship jobs?
Philadelphia and its suburbs, including King of Prussia and Wayne, account for the largest share of engineering program manager sponsorship activity in Pennsylvania, driven by defense contractors, pharmaceutical companies, and enterprise software firms. Pittsburgh is a secondary hub, particularly in advanced manufacturing, robotics, and autonomous systems. Allentown and the Lehigh Valley also see sponsorship activity tied to industrial manufacturing operations.
Are there any Pennsylvania-specific considerations for engineering program manager visa sponsorship?
Pennsylvania's engineering program manager market skews heavily toward defense and government contracting, which can introduce additional hiring complexity. Some defense roles require security clearances that non-citizens cannot hold, effectively limiting sponsorship to commercial or unclassified project tracks. Philadelphia's large university ecosystem, including Penn, Drexel, and Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh, creates strong OPT-to-sponsorship pipelines, meaning employers in those cities are often more experienced with international hiring processes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored engineering program manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
