Which companies in Ohio sponsor visas for engineering program managers?
Ohio-based employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories for engineering program managers include Honda Manufacturing of America, GE Aerospace, Intel (expanding in Columbus), Procter & Gamble, Battelle Memorial Institute, and Worthington Industries. Large defense contractors such as Leidos and Raytheon also operate in the state and have sponsored engineering program roles. Sponsorship patterns vary by employer size, project pipeline, and hiring year.
What visa types are most common for engineering program managers in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa for engineering program managers in Ohio, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field. Some Canadian and Mexican nationals in these roles may pursue TN status under the USMCA. Candidates already holding L-1A or O-1 status through multinational transfers or extraordinary ability petitions occasionally fill senior program management positions as well.
Which cities in Ohio have the most engineering program manager sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads Ohio for engineering program manager sponsorship activity, driven by Intel's semiconductor campus in Licking County and a growing tech sector. Cleveland follows closely, anchored by GE Aerospace's global headquarters and a dense concentration of advanced manufacturing firms. Cincinnati rounds out the top three, with P&G, Kroger's tech division, and numerous aerospace and consumer goods suppliers posting program management roles that have historically involved visa sponsorship.
How to find engineering program manager visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, making it practical to search for engineering program manager roles in Ohio without sifting through positions that don't sponsor. You can narrow results by city, employer, and visa type. Because Ohio's sponsoring employers are spread across Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati, using Migrate Mate's geographic filters helps identify active openings in each market rather than relying on broad national searches.
Are there any Ohio-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for engineering program managers?
Ohio's large public university system, including Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve University, feeds a steady pipeline of international engineering graduates who often need H-1B sponsorship after OPT expires. The state's manufacturing and defense sectors tend to favor full-time direct hires over contract placements for program manager roles, which can affect sponsorship availability. Intel's ongoing chip fabrication investment in central Ohio is also expanding the pool of employers actively seeking sponsored engineering program talent in the region.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored engineering program manager jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
