Which companies sponsor visas for product software engineers in Delaware?
Wilmington-based financial institutions are the most active sponsors, including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Barclays, and Capital One. DuPont's technology teams and insurance companies like Incyte also appear in DOL Labor Condition Application filings for product software engineer roles. Delaware's concentration of Fortune 500 corporate headquarters creates a consistent pool of employers with established visa sponsorship programs.
Which visa types are most common for product software engineer roles in Delaware?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for product software engineers in Delaware. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1B visas through intracompany transfers occasionally fill product engineering roles at multinationals with Delaware offices. Some candidates on OPT or STEM OPT also transition into full sponsorship through Delaware employers.
Which cities in Delaware have the most product software engineer sponsorship jobs?
Wilmington accounts for the overwhelming majority of product software engineer sponsorship jobs in Delaware. It hosts the state's largest concentration of financial services and corporate technology employers. Newark, home to the University of Delaware, has a smaller but growing presence, particularly at tech-adjacent companies and startups near the university. Dover sees far fewer opportunities in this specific role.
How to find product software engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Delaware?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse product software engineer roles in Delaware without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. Because Delaware's hiring is dominated by financial services and established corporations, searching Migrate Mate by industry alongside location helps surface the most relevant openings. Setting up role-specific alerts ensures you see new Delaware postings as they appear.
Are there any state-specific considerations for product software engineers seeking sponsorship in Delaware?
Delaware's tech hiring is closely tied to its financial services sector, so product software engineers with experience in fintech, payments infrastructure, or risk platforms tend to be most competitive. The University of Delaware in Newark provides a consistent pipeline of local engineering talent, but international candidates bring specialized skills that larger employers actively recruit. Because many sponsoring companies are large corporations, H-1B petitions here typically go through well-resourced in-house immigration or legal teams.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product software engineer jobs in Delaware?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
