Which companies in Florida sponsor visas for cloud architects?
Several large Florida-based employers have consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for cloud architecture roles. Citrix (Fort Lauderdale), Raymond James (St. Petersburg), Tech Data (Clearwater), and Chewy (Dania Beach) appear regularly in DOL Labor Condition Application filings for cloud and infrastructure positions. Healthcare systems like AdventHealth and financial services firms in Tampa and Miami also sponsor cloud architects at meaningful volume.
Which visa types are most common for cloud architect roles in Florida?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for cloud architect positions in Florida, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates already authorized under L-1B (intracompany transfer for specialized knowledge) or O-1A (extraordinary ability) also fill cloud architect roles at multinationals with Florida offices.
Which cities in Florida have the most cloud architect sponsorship jobs?
Miami leads Florida for cloud architect sponsorship activity, driven by its growth as a Latin American tech hub and the expansion of financial services and cloud infrastructure firms. Tampa and St. Petersburg follow closely, with concentrations in finance, healthcare IT, and cybersecurity. Orlando has notable demand tied to defense contractors and simulation technology companies. Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville round out the main hiring markets.
How to find cloud architect visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search cloud architect roles in Florida without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform aggregates openings across Florida's main tech markets, including Miami, Tampa, and Orlando. Because sponsorship willingness varies significantly by employer, using a sponsorship-focused tool like Migrate Mate saves considerable time in your search.
Are there any Florida-specific factors that affect cloud architect sponsorship opportunities?
Florida has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since DOL wage determinations for H-1B LCAs are set at the metropolitan area level. Cloud architect roles in Miami's financial technology sector often attract higher wage designations than the same title in smaller Florida metros. Florida's growing university pipeline, including programs at University of Florida and University of South Florida, also generates local talent that competes with internationally sponsored candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud architect jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
