Search Cloud Architect Jobs in TennesseeCloud Architect Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for cloud architects in Tennessee?
HCA Healthcare, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Amazon, Asurion, and FedEx are among the Tennessee employers with a track record of sponsoring H-1B visas for technology roles including cloud architect positions. Nashville-based healthcare IT firms and logistics technology companies in Memphis represent the most active sponsoring industries, given the state's concentration in those two sectors.
Which visa types are most common for cloud architect roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for cloud architects in Tennessee, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under the USMCA, which covers computer systems analysts and similar roles and does not require lottery selection.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most cloud architect sponsorship jobs?
Nashville generates the majority of cloud architect sponsorship opportunities in Tennessee, driven by its healthcare IT corridor and a growing base of financial technology firms. Knoxville has a smaller but active market tied to Oak Ridge National Laboratory and University of Tennessee research partnerships. Memphis contributes roles primarily through logistics and supply chain technology companies with large cloud infrastructure needs.
How to find cloud architect visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers have indicated openness to visa sponsorship, making it more efficient than broad searches that mix sponsored and non-sponsored postings. For cloud architect roles in Tennessee, you can filter by state and job category on Migrate Mate to surface positions at healthcare, logistics, and technology companies that have sponsored H-1B or TN visas for similar roles in the past.
Are there any Tennessee-specific considerations for cloud architects pursuing visa sponsorship?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects the overall compensation picture for international hires and can make prevailing wage determinations relevant when comparing offers. The state's heavy concentration of healthcare employers means cloud architects often need familiarity with HIPAA-compliant cloud architectures on platforms like AWS GovCloud or Azure Health Data Services. University of Tennessee and Vanderbilt graduates form an active local pipeline, so sponsoring employers tend to be experienced with the H-1B process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud architect jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
