Which companies sponsor visas for cloud architects in South Carolina?
Visa sponsorship for cloud architects in South Carolina comes primarily from multinational manufacturers, financial services firms, and government contractors. Companies with established sponsorship histories in the state include BMW Manufacturing, Michelin North America, and large financial technology firms operating in the Columbia and Greenville metro areas. Consulting firms with South Carolina delivery centers, such as Capgemini and Deloitte, also regularly sponsor cloud architecture talent.
Which visa types are most common for cloud architect roles in South Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for cloud architects in South Carolina, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field. The L-1A and L-1B are also common for multinational manufacturers like BMW and Michelin transferring senior architects from overseas offices. Some roles may qualify under the O-1 visa category for architects with exceptional records.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most cloud architect sponsorship jobs?
Greenville and Spartanburg lead South Carolina for cloud architect sponsorship activity, driven by the upstate region's dense concentration of multinational manufacturers and their technology teams. Columbia follows as the state capital and home to a significant government contracting and healthcare IT sector. Charleston is a growing market, with financial technology and defense contractors increasingly posting cloud architecture roles requiring visa sponsorship.
How to find cloud architect visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse cloud architect roles in South Carolina without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. You can filter by state and role type to surface active sponsoring employers in Greenville, Columbia, and Charleston. This saves significant time compared to manually identifying which South Carolina employers have a history of sponsoring cloud architecture positions.
Are there any state-specific considerations for cloud architects seeking sponsorship in South Carolina?
South Carolina's cloud architect market is heavily shaped by the manufacturing and automotive sectors in the upstate region, meaning many sponsoring employers are large multinationals with established HR and immigration infrastructure. The state also has a growing university pipeline through Clemson University and the University of South Carolina, which produces computer science graduates and maintains industry partnerships with local tech employers. Prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules apply uniformly regardless of the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud architect jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
