Which companies sponsor visas for cloud architects in Washington?
Microsoft and Amazon Web Services are the most consistent sponsors for cloud architect roles in Washington, given their headquarters in Redmond and Seattle respectively. Beyond those two, employers like Boeing, Expedia, T-Mobile, Accenture, and Slalom actively file H-1B visa petitions for cloud architecture positions. Government contractors and healthcare systems such as Providence and Swedish Medical Group also sponsor for cloud infrastructure roles supporting regulated workloads.
Which visa types are most common for cloud architect roles in Washington?
The H-1B is by far the most common visa category for cloud architects in Washington, used by the majority of large employers in the Seattle-Redmond corridor. The L-1A and L-1B are also frequently used, particularly at Microsoft and Amazon for internal transfers from international offices. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3 visa, and Canadian or Mexican nationals may qualify under TN visa status, typically under the Systems Analyst category.
Which cities in Washington have the most cloud architect sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and Redmond together account for the vast majority of cloud architect sponsorship opportunities in the state. Redmond is anchored by Microsoft's global campus, while Seattle houses Amazon's HQ2 infrastructure teams, along with a dense cluster of mid-size cloud consultancies and SaaS companies. Bellevue is a third significant hub, with growing enterprise tech offices from companies like Salesforce, PACCAR, and Concord Technologies all filing sponsorship petitions.
How to find cloud architect visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for this search. You can filter by state and role to see cloud architect positions in Washington where employers have a documented history of visa sponsorship. Because sponsorship willingness varies significantly even among large Washington employers, using a platform like Migrate Mate that surfaces verified sponsoring employers saves significant time compared to applying broadly and discovering late in the process that sponsorship is unavailable.
Are there state-specific factors cloud architects should know about Washington sponsorship hiring?
Washington has no state income tax, which affects how employers structure compensation benchmarks relative to prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules. The concentration of Big Tech headquarters means many Washington employers have established immigration programs and in-house legal teams, which generally results in more predictable sponsorship timelines. University pipelines from the University of Washington and Washington State University also supply a steady stream of OPT candidates that local tech employers are experienced in sponsoring through to H-1B status.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud architect jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
