Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for cloud architects?
Intel is one of Oregon's most active visa sponsors for technical roles, with large campuses in Hillsboro. Nike's global headquarters in Beaverton regularly sponsors cloud and infrastructure talent. Portland-based companies in the software, financial technology, and healthcare technology sectors also sponsor H-1B and other work visas for cloud architects, though sponsorship practices vary by employer and hiring cycle.
Which visa types are most common for cloud architect roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for cloud architects in Oregon, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Candidates with advanced credentials may also be considered for O-1A or EB-1 pathways. Australians may be eligible for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and is available year-round.
Which cities in Oregon have the most cloud architect sponsorship jobs?
Portland has the highest concentration of cloud architect sponsorship jobs in Oregon, driven by its established tech community and headquarters presence. Hillsboro and Beaverton, both part of the Portland metro area, are significant hubs due to Intel's semiconductor operations and Nike's corporate campus. Eugene has a smaller but active tech presence, partly supported by the University of Oregon's computer science programs.
How to find cloud architect visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for visa sponsorship roles in the U.S., including cloud architect positions in Oregon. You can filter by state and role to see employers who have a documented history of sponsoring work visas. This saves time compared to manually researching sponsorship histories, which is especially useful given the variability in how Oregon employers approach H-1B and other visa filings.
Are there any Oregon-specific factors that affect cloud architect visa sponsorship?
Oregon does not have a state income tax on wages for days worked outside the state, but workers present in Oregon are subject to state income tax, which is worth factoring into your overall compensation picture. Oregon's tech sector benefits from proximity to major Pacific Coast data centers and semiconductor manufacturing, which sustains demand for cloud architects. Oregon State University and Portland State University also feed engineering talent pipelines that shape local hiring norms and prevailing wage benchmarks.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud architect jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
