We are seeking a Senior AWS Cloud Architect to provide technical leadership for Cloud Engineering and Platform Engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in systems engineering, infrastructure, and DevOps, combined with deep hands-on expertise across the AWS ecosystem.
This role focuses on designing secure and scalable AWS platforms, building reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules, driving automation, improving operational excellence, and reducing manual operational tasks. The architect will work closely with client technical teams to establish cloud engineering standards and continuously improve platform reliability, security, performance, and cost efficiency.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical direction to Cloud Engineering and Platform Engineering teams.
- Design, deploy, and manage containerized workloads using Amazon EKS, ECS, and ECR.
- Manage EC2, Auto Scaling Groups, custom AMIs, S3, Lambda, IAM, Route 53, SSM, Cognito, and AWS Secrets Manager.
- Develop reusable Terraform modules and implement IaC solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
- Establish governed AWS environments using AWS Control Tower and multi-account architecture practices.
- Automate operational tasks, credential management, secret rotation, and AWS metrics collection.
- Integrate security and monitoring agents, including Cortex and Tenable, where required.
- Apply AWS Well-Architected principles to improve security, reliability, performance, operational excellence, and cost optimization.
- Identify operational toil and develop automation to improve engineering efficiency.
- Review existing cloud environments, troubleshoot production issues, and recommend architecture improvements.
- Mentor engineers and collaborate with client stakeholders and distributed teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 15+ years of overall IT experience.
- 8+ years in AWS/Cloud Engineering, Cloud Architecture, Platform Engineering, and DevOps.
- Strong background in systems engineering and infrastructure operations.
- 7+ years of experience with EKS/ECS, containerized workloads, CloudFormation, Terraform/IaC, Ansible, and reusable/custom modules.
- 7+ years of experience with EC2, Auto Scaling Groups, AMI creation, ECR, S3, Lambda, IAM, SSM, AWS Control Tower, Cognito, Route 53, and Secrets Manager.
- Strong knowledge of AWS security, governance, automation, and operational best practices.
- Experience providing technical leadership, troubleshooting complex issues, and mentoring engineering teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, documentation, and communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting.
- Advanced Ansible, CI/CD, and DevOps tools such as GitHub, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
