Which companies sponsor visas for cloud architects in Ohio?
Large Ohio-headquartered employers with established H-1B sponsorship histories include Nationwide Insurance, Progressive, and Huntington Bancshares in Columbus and Cleveland. Healthcare systems like Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth also hire cloud architects, as does JPMorgan Chase's significant Columbus technology presence. Consulting firms and managed service providers operating across Ohio's metro areas round out the sponsoring employer pool for this role.
Which visa types are most common for cloud architect roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa for cloud architect roles in Ohio, as the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1B specialized knowledge status at multinational employers may transfer to Ohio-based positions without entering the H-1B lottery. Australian citizens may also qualify for the E-3 visa with an Ohio employer willing to file the Labor Condition Application.
Which cities in Ohio have the most cloud architect sponsorship jobs?
Columbus is the clear center of cloud architect hiring in Ohio, driven by its dense concentration of financial services firms, insurance companies, and a growing tech sector. Cleveland follows, with demand from healthcare systems and manufacturing-adjacent technology teams. Cincinnati sees activity from consumer goods companies and regional banks. Smaller markets like Dayton occasionally post cloud architect roles tied to defense and aerospace contractors with government cloud requirements.
How to find cloud architect visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles where employers have demonstrated H-1B or other visa sponsorship activity, making it practical for cloud architects targeting Ohio positions. You can browse cloud architect openings filtered to Columbus, Cleveland, or Cincinnati and focus on companies with verified sponsorship histories. This saves time compared to applying broadly and discovering late in the process that a company won't sponsor international candidates.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for cloud architects seeking visa sponsorship?
Ohio's Department of Job and Family Services administers prevailing wage determinations alongside the federal DOL process, so employers filing Labor Condition Applications for cloud architect roles must meet the prevailing wage for the specific metropolitan area, which differs between Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. Ohio also has several university research computing programs at Ohio State and Case Western Reserve that sometimes create pathways for international students into sponsored cloud roles through OPT before H-1B filing.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud architect jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
