Which companies in Nevada sponsor visas for cloud architects?
Switch, the Las Vegas-based data center operator, and major gaming corporations including MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment have sponsored H-1B workers in cloud and infrastructure roles. Amazon Web Services maintains a regional presence in Nevada and has a history of sponsoring cloud architects nationally. Technology vendors and consulting firms contracted by Nevada's hospitality industry also appear in DOL Labor Condition Application filings for cloud architect positions.
Which visa types are most common for cloud architect roles in Nevada?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for cloud architects in Nevada, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify under the TN visa category, which covers computer systems analysts and related occupations. Australians can explore the E-3 visa, which follows a similar specialty occupation framework.
Which cities in Nevada have the most cloud architect visa sponsorship jobs?
Las Vegas accounts for the majority of cloud architect sponsorship activity in Nevada, driven by the concentration of large hospitality, gaming, and data center employers headquartered there. Reno is a secondary hub, partly because several major technology companies, including Tesla and Amazon, operate facilities in the greater Reno-Sparks area. Henderson, as a Las Vegas suburb with a growing corporate office presence, also appears in sponsorship filings for cloud roles.
How to find cloud architect visa sponsorship jobs in Nevada?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for cloud architect roles in Nevada without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location to focus on Las Vegas or Reno. Because Nevada's sponsoring employers span gaming, data centers, and logistics, reviewing the full range of industries on Migrate Mate increases your chances of finding relevant openings.
Are there any Nevada-specific considerations for cloud architects pursuing visa sponsorship?
Nevada's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions are determined by the Department of Labor based on the Las Vegas or Reno metropolitan statistical areas, which generally reflect lower prevailing wages than markets like San Francisco or New York. This can make Nevada-based sponsorships more accessible for some employers. The University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the University of Nevada, Reno both produce computer science graduates, so some regional employers have established hiring pipelines that occasionally extend to international students on OPT.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud architect jobs in Nevada?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
