Which companies sponsor visas for cloud architects in North Carolina?
Consistent H-1B sponsors for cloud architecture roles in North Carolina include Red Hat (headquartered in Raleigh), Lenovo's North American headquarters in Morrisville, Bank of America and Wells Fargo in Charlotte, and large consulting firms such as Infosys, Wipro, and Cognizant with significant operations in the Research Triangle. Defense contractors like Cisco and IBM also sponsor cloud architects across the state.
Which visa types are most common for cloud architect roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for cloud architects in North Carolina, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals. Candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or STEM OPT extension are also commonly hired by North Carolina tech and finance employers.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most cloud architect sponsorship jobs?
The Research Triangle area, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, accounts for the largest share of cloud architect sponsorship activity in North Carolina, driven by tech companies, life sciences firms, and proximity to NC State, Duke, and UNC. Charlotte is the second major hub, especially for cloud roles in banking and financial services. Smaller concentrations exist in Morrisville, Cary, and Greensboro.
How to find cloud architect visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search cloud architect roles in North Carolina without sifting through positions that don't sponsor. The platform surfaces roles from employers with a documented history of H-1B filings, which is particularly useful in competitive markets like the Research Triangle and Charlotte where not every posting makes sponsorship eligibility clear upfront.
Are there any North Carolina-specific factors that affect cloud architect sponsorship hiring?
North Carolina's Research Triangle Park is one of the largest research and technology campuses in the United States, creating steady demand for cloud architects across life sciences, software, and government contractors. The region's strong university pipeline from NC State and Duke means employers are accustomed to sponsoring new graduates on OPT. Charlotte's financial services concentration adds a second distinct hiring market with its own compliance-driven cloud infrastructure needs.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud architect jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
