Which companies sponsor visas for project leaders in Florida?
Florida's largest visa sponsors for project leader roles include Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman in Brevard County, AdventHealth and HCA Florida Healthcare in Orlando and Tampa, and technology services firms like Cognizant, Infosys, and Tata Consultancy Services operating across Miami and Jacksonville. Defense and healthcare sectors account for a significant share of project leader sponsorships filed through the Department of Labor in Florida.
Which visa types are most common for project leader roles in Florida?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for project leader positions in Florida, particularly in technology, healthcare IT, and defense contracting. Project leader roles typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a related field such as engineering, information systems, or business administration. Multinational candidates moving within the same company may also qualify for the L-1A intracompany transferee visa.
Which cities in Florida have the most project leader sponsorship jobs?
Orlando leads Florida for project leader sponsorship activity, driven by its large healthcare systems, simulation technology firms, and defense contractors near the Space Coast. Miami follows, with demand concentrated in financial technology and construction management. Tampa has a growing presence in cybersecurity and healthcare project roles. Brevard County's Space Coast is particularly active for project leaders in aerospace and government contracting environments.
How to find project leader visa sponsorship jobs in Florida?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to show roles where employers have a documented history of visa sponsorship, making it easier to identify project leader openings in Florida without sorting through positions that don't support international candidates. You can narrow results by city or region across the state. Focusing on employers in aerospace, healthcare IT, and technology services in Orlando, Miami, and Tampa gives you the strongest starting point for sponsored project leader roles.
Are there state-specific considerations for project leaders seeking visa sponsorship in Florida?
Florida's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B project leader roles are set by the Department of Labor based on the specific metropolitan area, so wages in Miami typically differ from those in Orlando or Jacksonville. Florida's concentration of federal contractors in defense and aerospace means some project leader roles carry security clearance requirements, which can complicate or limit sponsorship for international candidates. The University of Florida and University of Central Florida also supply graduate pipelines that some employers draw from when hiring internationally.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project leader jobs in Florida?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
