Which companies sponsor visas for field engineers in Georgia?
Several large employers in Georgia have a documented history of sponsoring work visas for field engineers. NCR Atleos, headquartered in Atlanta, regularly files H-1B petitions for field engineering roles. Siemens, Honeywell, and Motorola Solutions also maintain a consistent sponsorship presence in Georgia, particularly for positions tied to industrial systems, telecommunications infrastructure, and enterprise technology deployment.
Which visa types are most common for field engineer roles in Georgia?
The H-1B is the most common visa for field engineers in Georgia, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA successor agreement. Australians with relevant qualifications may also explore the E-3 visa.
Which cities in Georgia have the most field engineer sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the large majority of field engineer visa sponsorship activity in Georgia, driven by its concentration of technology companies, logistics firms, and industrial manufacturers. Savannah is a growing hub, particularly for roles tied to the Port of Savannah and associated supply chain infrastructure. Augusta sees demand in cybersecurity and defense-adjacent engineering roles, partly connected to Fort Eisenhower.
How to find field engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse field engineer openings in Georgia without sifting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. You can filter by state and job category to surface positions from Georgia-based employers that have an active sponsorship history. This saves significant time compared to manually researching each company's immigration filing patterns.
Are there any Georgia-specific considerations for field engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Georgia's engineering job market is closely tied to its logistics, manufacturing, and fintech sectors. Field engineers targeting sponsorship should note that the role's duties must clearly align with a specialty occupation definition under H-1B rules, which can be more scrutinized for field-based positions where on-site technical work is the primary function. Georgia Tech's strong engineering pipeline also means competition from locally trained graduates, so demonstrating specialized international experience matters.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored field engineer jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
