Which companies sponsor visas for IT technical support roles in Georgia?
Large Georgia-based employers with established immigration programs are the most consistent sponsors for IT technical support roles. Companies like NCR Voyix, Delta Air Lines, Cox Enterprises, Equifax, and Fiserv have all filed H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications covering technical support positions in Georgia. Global technology firms with Atlanta offices, including IBM and Infosys, also sponsor IT support staff regularly.
Which visa types are most common for IT technical support roles in Georgia?
The H-1B is the most common visa for IT technical support roles in Georgia, provided the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science or information systems. Some employers also sponsor TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical roles. L-1B visas are an option for IT support professionals transferring within a multinational company.
Which cities in Georgia have the most IT technical support sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the overwhelming majority of IT technical support visa sponsorship activity in Georgia. Buckhead, Midtown, and the Perimeter Center corridor are home to large corporate headquarters and financial services firms that hire IT support staff. Alpharetta, just north of Atlanta, hosts a dense cluster of technology and financial technology companies and has emerged as a secondary hub for sponsored IT support roles.
How to find it technical support visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters IT technical support jobs in Georgia specifically by visa sponsorship, saving you from sorting through listings that won't lead to sponsorship. The platform aggregates roles from employers with verified sponsorship histories, which is particularly useful in Georgia where sponsorship activity is concentrated among a specific set of Atlanta-area corporations and technology firms rather than spread evenly across the state.
Are there any state-specific considerations for IT technical support sponsorship in Georgia?
Georgia does not have state-level visa programs, so federal H-1B rules govern sponsorship. One practical consideration is that IT technical support roles must demonstrate specialty occupation status for H-1B eligibility, meaning positions requiring only a general associate degree or vocational training may not qualify. Georgia's concentration of large employers in financial services and logistics means many posted roles sit at the systems administration and enterprise support level, which more reliably meets the specialty occupation threshold.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored it technical support jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
