Which companies in Georgia sponsor visas for software QA engineers?
Atlanta-based employers with documented H-1B sponsorship history for software QA engineers include NCR Voyix, Global Payments, Cox Enterprises, and Fiserv. Large consulting firms such as Infosys and Cognizant also maintain Georgia offices and regularly sponsor QA-focused roles. Sponsorship patterns vary by team and hiring cycle, so checking recent LCA filings through the Department of Labor's OFLC disclosure database gives the most current picture.
Which visa types are most common for software QA engineer roles in Georgia?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for software QA engineers in Georgia, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Some candidates also enter on OPT or STEM OPT extensions before transitioning to H-1B. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose QA role meets the treaty's engineer classification requirements.
Which cities in Georgia have the most software QA engineer sponsorship jobs?
Atlanta accounts for the large majority of software QA sponsorship activity in Georgia, driven by its concentration of fintech, logistics technology, and enterprise software companies. Alpharetta and Roswell, in Atlanta's northern suburbs, host significant technology operations for companies like NCR Voyix and various financial services firms. Outside the metro area, sponsorship opportunities are limited, making Atlanta the practical center of gravity for international QA candidates in the state.
How to find software qa engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Georgia?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for roles with visa sponsorship, including software QA engineer positions in Georgia. Because not all QA job postings explicitly state sponsorship availability, a platform that pre-filters for sponsoring employers saves significant research time. Searching by state and role on Migrate Mate surfaces active Georgia listings from companies with a history of sponsoring international candidates in software quality and testing roles.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for software QA engineers in Georgia?
Georgia does not have state-level visa or work authorization requirements, so federal H-1B rules govern sponsorship. One practical factor is Georgia Tech's large computer science and engineering graduate programs, which create a steady pipeline of OPT candidates that many Atlanta employers are accustomed to hiring and subsequently sponsoring. The state's fintech industry concentration also means QA engineers with financial systems testing experience may find more sponsoring employers relative to other regions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software qa engineer jobs in Georgia?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
