Your role
Our Field Service Engineer 3 role model and apply deep domain and technical expertise, to successfully lead and deliver our most complex operational tasks and commitments. You can provide the highest levels of field service support, including installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of Edwards products, with key areas of focus being on safety and quality whilst ensuring strong levels of customer satisfaction. Your extensive knowledge will be applied to help support service management with operational activities as well as generating commercial leads within the sub fab. You will act as a technical advisor to key accounts team and help support client meetings as the Edwards technical ambassador, as and when required. The role will be expected to follow 50% field service technical activities and 50% focused on supporting the leadership team with key accounts activities.
Tasks include:
- One of a kind installation, commissioning of Edwards products. Complex troubleshooting & fault finding. (e.g., software & controls interrogation, limited configs loading of Edwards software applications) targeting to resolve or escalate issues with contractual timeframe commitments to meet customers’ expectations.
- Quality Assurance of Site Assets & Processes. Includes situational risk awareness, complex maintenance of Installed base data, ownership for preparing for & delivering physical and documented outcomes.
- Provide Expert technical support/first level of escalation for the site team and training for the on-site service team enhancing on-site service teams’ ability to support Edwards equipment.
- Demonstrates a visible and active commitment to ensure that all monitored field service activities are conducted within the boundaries of all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure organizational, safety and health obligations are met. Adheres to all relevant aspects of the risk control element.
- The geographical location of this position may also require that you work both at a static site/fab and regionally as and when business requirements require you to travel.
- Support of Service and Ops Manager positions for all technical and service-related matters.
To succeed, you will need
Education level
- University or formal qualification in a mechanical, electromechanical or an electronics discipline.
Relevant Previous experience
- Minimum of (5) years field service experience in a relevant or related industry, ideally with a strong customer facing focus.

- Strong customer focus to ensure delivered solutions meet customer expectations and timeframes, whilst working in alignment with Edwards strategies and processes. (Proactively seeks feedback and ask questions to understand customers’ business and make effective decisions.)
- Self-directed, organized with the ability to handle and resolve complex and challenging problems whilst maintaining a positive engagement with the customer.
- Must have good interpersonal skills, be a self-starter and strong finisher. Must be capable of exercising independent judgment, work with minimal or no supervision, read and interpret technical documents, drawings/diagrams and understand defined specifications.
- Continuously looks for better ways to improve efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Influences other team members to deliver company objectives.
