Which companies sponsor visas for QA engineers in Idaho?
Micron Technology is one of Idaho's most consistent H-1B sponsors, with a significant engineering presence in Boise. Clearwater Analytics and smaller software firms in the Treasure Valley also have sponsorship history. Because Idaho's tech sector is more concentrated than larger states, reviewing DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data is the most reliable way to identify which employers have actively sponsored QA engineering roles.
Which visa types are most common for QA engineers in Idaho?
The H-1B is the most common visa for QA engineers in Idaho. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Candidates already holding O-1 or L-1 status through a transferring employer may also find opportunities, though these are less common in Idaho's relatively smaller tech market.
Which cities in Idaho have the most QA engineer sponsorship jobs?
Boise accounts for the large majority of QA engineer sponsorship activity in Idaho. The surrounding Treasure Valley cities of Nampa and Meridian have seen technology employer growth and occasionally appear in sponsorship filings. Outside the Boise metro, sponsorship opportunities for QA engineers are limited. Candidates should focus their search on the greater Boise area when targeting Idaho specifically.
How to find qa engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Idaho?
Migrate Mate lets you filter QA engineer jobs specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you're not sifting through postings from employers who won't sponsor. Because Idaho's tech sector is smaller than major coastal markets, filtering by state and role together is especially useful here. Migrate Mate surfaces active sponsorship roles from Boise-area employers, including positions from larger companies like Micron Technology that have a documented sponsorship history.
Are there any Idaho-specific considerations for QA engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Idaho's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B QA engineer roles are determined by the Department of Labor's wage data for the Boise metropolitan area, which generally reflects a lower cost-of-living market compared to Seattle or San Francisco. Boise State University produces a steady pipeline of engineering graduates, meaning local competition exists. International candidates with specialized experience in semiconductor testing or fintech quality assurance may have a differentiated profile for Idaho employers in those specific sectors.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored qa engineer jobs in Idaho?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
