Which companies in Indiana sponsor visas for QA engineers?
Indiana employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories for QA engineering roles include Eli Lilly, Salesforce (Indianapolis office), Cummins, Rolls-Royce, and Infosys. IT consulting firms operating in Indiana, such as Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro, also sponsor QA engineers. Defense and manufacturing contractors in the Fort Wayne and Columbus areas have also filed LCAs for QA-related positions.
Which visa types are most common for QA engineer roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa for QA engineers in Indiana, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or STEM OPT frequently transition to H-1B sponsorship. L-1B visas apply to intracompany transfers with specialized QA knowledge, particularly at multinationals with Indiana offices.
Which cities in Indiana have the most QA engineer sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the majority of QA engineer sponsorship activity in Indiana, driven by its concentration of tech, pharmaceutical, and financial services employers. Bloomington sees activity tied to Indiana University's technology ecosystem. Fort Wayne and Columbus also have openings, particularly in manufacturing and automotive QA. Most Fortune 500 and consulting firm sponsorships are concentrated in the Indianapolis metro area.
How to find qa engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, and you can filter by role and state to find QA engineer positions in Indiana. The platform surfaces employers with active sponsorship histories, saving you the work of screening out companies that don't sponsor. Given Indiana's mix of pharma, manufacturing, and tech employers, filtering by industry can help you focus on sectors most relevant to your QA background.
Are there any Indiana-specific factors QA engineers should know before applying for sponsorship?
Indiana's QA engineering market spans distinct industries, and the required skills vary significantly. Pharma QA roles at companies like Eli Lilly prioritize FDA compliance and validation experience, while software QA at Indianapolis tech firms focuses on automation tools. Purdue University and Indiana University produce strong local engineering pipelines, so sponsored candidates often need to demonstrate specialized expertise to stand out. Prevailing wage levels are set by the Department of Labor based on the specific job location and role level.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored qa engineer jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
